Chapter Summary
Ivypool's PoV
- Ivypool and Dovewing come back from guarding the camp all night. Ivypool is told by Dovewing not to go to the Dark Forest that night. Ivypool wishes she could control it, but ends up in the Dark Forest anyways. The WindClan cats couldn’t believe Thistleclaw was ever a ThunderClan cat, after he shows Breezepelt a new move. Tigerheart finds Ivypool when she is trying to avoid him, and confronts her. He inquires what Dovewing would say if she knew Ivypool had almost killed an innocent cat. Ivypool tells Tigerheart that she had no choice but to do it, but he interupts her saying there was always a choice. She gets really mad, and asks him if he had meant when he had no choice about using Dovewing to get herbs for ShadowClan, but Tigerheart tells her she wouldn't understand.
- Antpelt arrives, although he’s late, and is told to fight against Ivypool. Thistleclaw tells them the rules, after Antpelt is accused of being a coward, Thistleclaw starts attacking him and almost kills him. Thistleclaw than fights Ivypool, and when he says he won, she protests saying that she climbed up to the losing spot, and that she wasn’t forced. He keeps protesting until Mapleshade appears and tells him to leave and lick his battle wounds, because Ivypool was correct. Mapleshade tells Ivypool that she would be fighting along side herself when the final battle came. Ivypool falls to the ground after Mapleshade leaves and she comes back to her nest. She wonders how she is to prevent the battle, and wonders if she could really save her Clanmates.
