- Silver is a loner who decides to settle in River Ripple's informal group. She builds her den outside a thicket near the others by the river. Silver shares a squirrel with Mist and Night when Croak announces that she has found a hollow beyond the thicket that they could settle in. Mist jokes that Silver growls in her sleep, but the gray tabby she-cat snaps back that Mist yowls in his. As the group of loners settle in the clearing, Silver teaches them how to create dens and decorate them with shells and feathers. Silver, Sage, and Woodlouse greet Cleo and her kits when they arrive, and River Ripple asks the gray tabby she-cat to fetch them a vole. When Night's wound becomes infected, River Ripple asks Silver and Whistle if they know how to treat her. When Dappled Pelt arrives to help, Silver fetches marigold for her. Silver eventually leaves the group sometime before the fire, having no loyalty to the group unlike the others in the area, and River Ripple wonders if she and the others will ever return. Seasons later, when Arc mentions that he met an old friend of Riverstar, the Clan leader wonders if he is talking about Silver or Woodlouse.
