Beyond the Code[]
- Leafstar and Billystorm's kits (Firekit, Stormkit, and Harrykit) are play fighting while Leafstar begins to ponder on her kits possibly being more important then her Clan, but the thought doesn't last long. Clovertail sneaks up behind Leafstar to talk about Sol, speaking well about the tom, Leafstar mentions prey is getting scarce from the heat. From the heat, cats start to realize that daylight warriors have it easy and begin to make remarks about them, Rockshade going as far as going up to Billystorm to say "Just because your bellies are filled with kittypet slop every night doesn't mean the rest of the clan should go hungry!" But the situation is quickly diminished. Yet the other cats still believe what Rockshade had said. As Leafstar begins to go down to help the situation, her kit, Harrykit gets stung by a thistle, Leafstar quickly shushing the bickering cats, Billystorm goes to help Harrykit he turns out fine after Sol puts moss on Harrykit's wound. Leafstar makes a suggestion to set down dawn and dusk patrols only and sleep during the day, to try and catch prey when it is out of its burrows. Shrewtooth brings up the question of guarding camp, but the deputy, Sharpclaw mentions that they wouldn't all sleep at once. Once a dusk patrol returns, Ebonyclaw is revealed to have been attacked by a badger which causes Sharpclaw to realize that dusk patrols wouldn't work, because they would be competing with their predators like badgers and foxes, but Leafstar points out that larger patrols would mean less danger, so they begin sending out two patrols of eight cats. Sol's patrol returns with a large amount of prey, shocking at this point in the year. So Sol shows Leafstar how he had gotten the prey, Leafstar is shocked to see him stealing from a mother fox den. Leafstar scolds Sol. After he sulks for a few days, he play-fights with the apprentices, and reveals his skills are terrible. That shocks the apprentices. In the night, foxes begin to attack the SkyClan camp, Leafstars kits try to join in the battle, but Lichenfur saves them after Sol simply stood there in shock. The foxes are driven away. After Leafstar confronts Sol, he whines about always wanting to be a warrior, and Leafstar questions him about him knowing about the clan before Leafstar met him, Sol shares the nursery tales that his mother, Cinders had told Sol about SkyClan, and about Cinders giving him and his siblings away to twolegs. After Leafstar attempts to train Sol, she begins seeing improvement, but runs away at a gathering, learning that he won't be made a warrior right away. Then the camp floods and the cats of SkyClan wait on higher ground till the current drops to its normal height, revealing Lichenfur's corpse.
After the Flood[]
- The SkyClan camp is in disarray from the flood that killed Lichenfur in Beyond the Code, the cats of SkyClan work to clear their home from the floods destruction. Tangle, a SkyClan elder mourns the loss of Lichenfur. Leafstar mentions that Harveymoon has been helping a lot more. Leafstar mentions that being SkyClan leader and a mother can be a bit daunting, sending her kits off to clear the bedding from their den. Insisting to her kits that there won't be another flood. Leafstar begins to feel uncertain about being able to rebuild the clan, after Leafstar's kits keep bothering her, Clovertail lets them help her pick out feathers for Tangle's new nest. Leafstar mentions how Cherrytail and Sharpclaw are non-stop fighting because of how Cherrytail is working while expecting Sharpclaw's kits. Sharpclaw voices his worries about how the flood could've been a sign from StarClan to Leafstar. Echosong helps a brown tabby named Sparrowpelt that was stuck under a tree while trying to move it. Sol comes into camp, saying that they could line their nests with ivy leaves, but Leafstar mentions how they can be poison to cats, Sol mentions how they don't eat their own bedding, but Leafstar quickly shuts him down, saying that the juices from the leaves can get into the cats eyes. Leafstar praises Sol for his good idea. When Sol runs off, Leafstar catches up to him, mentioning how they could use his help in clearing the camp, but Sol responds that he was going to help Echosong find herbs, but Leafstar points out that it would be a tricky task, mentioning how cats who worked alongside Echosong and Frecklewish would be better, Sol walks off to go help clear the camp, saying "All right. If its just brue strength you want." Echosong mentions that most herbs are soggy, saying that she's been too busy to ask starclan if the flood was a sign when Leafstar brings it up. Later that night, Spottedleaf comes to visit Leafstar, Spottedleaf says that the flood wasn't a punishment of any sort, but SkyClan does have a problem with a cat, Leafstar guesses Sol, and Spottedleaf says "Correct on the first guess." Leafstar mentions that all he wants to do is be a loyal warrior, and Spottedleaf points out that that is not his destiny. While Spottedleaf walks off, Leafstar asks that cats can choose to be warriors, and Spottedleaf doesnt respond. Billystorm and Leafstar talk about the dream, Leafstar mentions that Billystorm was battered in the flood. Billystorm goes to help cats move some rubbish, when they discover twoleg silverthorn. A small patrol lead by Leafstar and Billystorm hide the silverthorn in a hollow log.
