These notes reflect a bulleted list of major and minor events in SkyClan and the Stranger (book) that can be easily navigated. They are intended to serve as a reference for those looking for specific events in re-reading and book discussions and include links to the relevant chapter subpages further detailing each chapter's events. In addition, this is a heavily summarized cliffnotes, and further details can be found in the individual short graphic novels.

The Rescue

• Leafstar and her mate Billystorm spend some quiet time together.
  • Leafstar introduces herself and SkyClan's camp, saying the camp was a safe and secure place.
• Rabbitleap teaches Birdpaw, Honeypaw, and Sandypaw how to leap high.
  • Clovertail, their mother, warns her three kits not to go on top of the rock and fall off.
  • Birdpaw tells Clovertail that they were being careful, but she then falls off.
• Echosong appears from her den and tells Birdpaw to come to her den to have her better.
• Billystorm tells Leafstar that she has done a good job with the Clan, and they go into the gorge with their fresh-kill.
• Echosong scolds Leafstar for hunting and climbing since she is expecting, and Leafstar tells her to relax.
• Leafstar is anxious that her loyalty will be divided between her Clan and her kits.
  • She dreams that she is lost and her Clan is in danger, and se must choose between the two.
• Leafstar and Harveymoon find Waspwhisker and Tinycloud when walking, and learn that Nettlesplash and Sandypaw are lost.
  • The four warriors follow the young cats' trail. When they are found, it is revealed that they had eaten the prey they caught instead of taking it to camp.
  • Leafstar assigns them to clean Lichenfur's fur and bedding as a punishment for breaking the warrior code.
• A few days later, Sharpclaw prohibits Leafstar from patrolling till her kits are born.
• In camp, Plumwillow, Nettlesplash, Honeypaw, Birdpaw, and Sandypaw are missing for a training session.
  • The five come back to camp with a disrespectfully-killed pigeon, and Birdpaw has reopened her eye wound.
• Sharpclaw catches the same five young cats "going on dawn patrol."
  • Echosong expresses worries about Birdpaw's appetite. Petalnose reassures her, and Leafstar complains about the heat.
• A few days later, Echosong is fretting about Birdpaw's eye to Leafstar. Birdpaw races up to them, her eye completely healed.
• It is so hot that Leafstar goes to the Whispering Cave to cool down.
  • She overhears Honeypaw, Birdpaw, and Sandypaw discuss a secret outside and decides to keep an eye on them.
• Birdpaw, Sandypaw, and Nettlesplash leave camp, claiming to go the stream to wash their paws. Leafstar secretly tags along behind them.
• Leafstar sees the three cats going to a Twoleg nest.
  • The young cats eat food that an elderly female Twoleg gives them. Leafstar is infuriated with their behavior and sends them back to camp.
• Back in the gorge, Leafstar gives birth to three kits.
• The Twoleg from before arrives in camp and the SkyClan cats hide.
  • Leafstar's kits try to escape the den, and one of them falls off of a ledge.
  • Leafstar goes to get her, but the Twoleg comes first and puts the kit in a basket. She puts Leafstar and her other kits in the basket too.
• The Twoleg takes Leafstar and her kits to her Twoleg nest, the SkyClan leader realizes they are trapped in there.
• Harry, the Twoleg's kittypet, recognizes Leafstar as a cat living in the gorge, and wonders why she wants to escape.
  • Sharpclaw and Billystorm appear and try to help her get out of the nest. The Twoleg brings them food, Leafstar tells him not to hurt her. The SkyClan warriors have to go back.
• Leafstar's kits' eyes begin to open. She dreams that she is in SkyClan camp with her kits, but that everyone abandoned them.
• She wakes to hear meowing outside. Fallowfern is hurt, and the Twoleg takes her in as well.
  • Fallowfern tells Leafstar she faked to be hurt so that she could get into the nest. They take one kit each, and Harry helps them by taking another.
  • They run outside, where other SkyClan warriors wait. Leafstar says goodbye to Harry.
• Leafstar calls a meeting and gives thanks to her warriors, as well as reminding the young cats not to take food from Twolegs.
  • After the meeting, Leafstar and Billystorm name their kits, Stormkit in honor of Sandstorm, Firekit in honor of Firestar, and Harrykit in honor of Harry.
• Harry comes to camp and asks to be a member of SkyClan.
  • He reveals his name to be Sol.

Beyond the Code

• Leafstar reflects her life in SkyClan while watching her kits, Stormkit, Harrykit, and Firekit, play-fight.
• The relationships between the daylight-warriors and the regular SkyClan warriors are tense.
  • An argument breaks out between Harveymoon and Bouncefire.
  • As Leafstar tries to stop the fighting, Harrykit pricks his nose against a leaf. Sharpclaw tells Leafstar to go help Billystorm tend to their kits, and takes over the situation between the warriors.
• Due to the excessive heat, the Clan decides to hunt at night.
  • However, the patrols run into foxes and badgers also hunting at night, and one patrol is wounded.
• Leafstar and Sharpclaw decide to double the amount of cats on a normal patrol.
  • Patchfoot's patrol returns with only half its members.
  • Sol made them split into two groups, and Sol's patrol returns with enough food to feed the entire Clan.
• Leafstar is curious by Sol's hunting abilities since he hasn't shown much talent prior.
  • Sol and Leafstar take out a small patrol, and his plan ends up being stealing food from foxes.
  • Leafstar is horrified, and both her and Sharpclaw scold Sol for doing such a thing, as it could lead the foxes to their camp.
• During the night, the SkyClan camp is attacked by foxes.
  • Leafstar's kits hear the fighting, and come out of their den. They want to fight, but before they can get anywhere near the foxes, they are stopped by Lichenfur, who keeps a close eye on them.
• After the battle, Leafstar confronts Sol, to which Sol states that he's always wanted to become part of SkyClan.
  • Sol explains how he and his siblings were cared for by his mother, Cinders, and how his father was never around.
  • Sol's mother told them stories about the "sky warriors."
  • Cinders tries her best to provide for both her and her kits. She's visited by her mate, who informs her that he's leaving with a new mate.
  • Cinders falls into a depression-like state, and decides to leave each of her kits with a Twoleg, in hopes that they'll take care of them.
• Leafstar realizes how important becoming a warrior is to Sol, and continues to teach him to become a warrior.
  • Leafstar starts to train Sol in the ways of SkyClan.
  • It starts off badly, but Sol gradually begins to get the hang of it, and starts to improve his skills, which impresses Leafstar.
• A Gathering is held.
  • Leafstar praises her Clan for how they acted during the fox attack, and goes on to say that they are healthy and strong.
  • Sol interrupts the Gathering, claiming to be ready for his warrior name.
  • Leafstar tells him that a Gathering isn't the place for it, and he storms off, furious.
• A storm blows it's way in, and Leafstar sends all the cats back to their dens.
• A flash flood rages through the camp, causing the entire Clan to evacuate and rapidly rising water.
• After the water recedes, the cats attempt to look around the camp to assess the damage.
  • Cherrytail finds Lichenfur, dead from the flood. The entire Clan is distraught.
  • They hold a vigil for Lichenfur, and Leafstar wonders why StarClan won't leave her Clan in peace.

After the Flood

• The camp starts to rebuild.
  • Leafstar's kits are afraid there'll be another flood, and climb up a cliff to safety, although Leafstar assures them they'll be fine.
• Cherrytail is expecting Sharpclaw's kits, and they have been arguing ever since the flood about how hard she's working.
• Sharpclaw asks Leafstar if the flood was a sign from StarClan, and she wonders if it has to do with Sol.
• Sol shows Leafstar some ivy tendrils he found to line new nests.
  • Leafstar replies it could be poisonous, and Sol grudgingly agrees and walks off.
• Leafstar is afraid that some cats will leave the Clan to become kittypets or loners because of the impending danger.
• Leafstar dreams about Spottedleaf, and asks her StarClan sent the flood for a reason.
  • Spottedleaf replies that the flood wasn't a punishment, but that SkyClan had a problem with a particular cat, and Leafstar guesses it's Sol.
  • Spottedleaf reminds Leafstar that making a Sol a warrior may not be his destiny.
• Billystorm, Harveymoon, and Shrewtooth find some deadly silverthorn in the debris.
  • The four of them push the leaves into a hollow tree stump, and Billystorm tells his kits to stay away from it.
• Leafstar offers to collect herbs with Sol, teaching him what each herb they come across smells and looks like.
  • She is confident that nothing is sinister about Sol, and that he just finds being a warrior tricky.
• Sol then abruptly asks Leafstar when he'll be made a warrior, and Leafstar replies he needs an assessment, which he's not ready for.
  • She tells him there's a bit more he needs to learn about the warrior code.
• Fallowfern, Patchfoot, and Petalnose tell Leafstar they're thinking about leaving the Clan.
  • Leafstar respects their decision and tells them to let her know once they're sure.
• Leafstar's kits tell her that Billystorm told them about moving to his Twoleg nest because the camp isn't safe enough.
  • Leafstar is furious with him for wanting to take the kits without telling her.
  • Billystorm insists he's doing what is best for the kits since the camp isn't safe.
  • She temporarily exiles Billystorm for betraying her.
• Leafstar's kits ask when they're going to the Twolegplace, and she explains to her kits that Billystorm was wrong.
  • When Billystorm doesn't show up the next morning, Leafstar decides to do something productive, and assess Sol.
  • While out, Leafstar and Sol pass by the old Twoleg nest that Shrewtooth lived in, and they scent loners.
• After Leafstar returns with Sol, she heads out again with Echosong, and the two spend the day without worries.
  • When Echosong and Leafstar return to camp, they are told that Leafstar's kits have vanished, and no one can find them.
  • Leafstar wonders to herself if Billystorm took the kits.
• Sharpclaw organizes a patrol to Twolegplace to confront Billystorm.
  • Leafstar catches wind of this and races to Twolegplace to confront Sharpclaw and his patrol, who wrongly accuse Billystorm of taking the kits when he has no idea where they are.
• Billystorm rejoins SkyClan, and they continue their search in the morning.
  • While out, they catch the scent of rogues, and they race back to came to find it being invaded by a group of rogue cats.
• During the battle, it seems that the rogue cats gain the upper hand
  • However, they are suddenly overrun when Patchfoot, Petalnose and Fallowfern return. SkyClan unites to defeat the rogues.
  • After the battle, the three cats decide to remain in SkyClan.
• Leafstar notices Shrewtooth stalking Sol outside of camp.
  • She decides to follow as well to see where the two cats are going. She is lead to the old Twoleg den.
• Leafstar discovers that Sol was the one who stole her kits, and Shrewtooth confronts Sol.
  • Their fight is interrupted by Leafstar, who tells Shrewtooth to bring everyone from SkyClan.
• After Shrewtooth leaves, Sol and Leafstar fight.
  • Leafstar exiles him from SkyClan.
  • Furious, Sol threatens Leafstar, only to be stopped by a SkyClan patrol.
• Billystorm decides to stay in SkyClan with Leafstar and her kits, and the kits are overjoyed.
  • Sol leaves vowing revenge on the Clans.
  • Although Billystorm voices concern about Sol's possible return, Leafstar says he can try.
