"There will be many troubles on our path—I do not doubt it. But nothing good comes without a struggle. We must fight for our future."
This article contains major spoilers for the recently released book, StormClan's Folly. Please proceed at your own discretion.
"So there it is. The end of two once-great Clans. I fear for the pair of you, and for any cat foolish enough to follow you. But make no mistake. If this StormClan of yours tries hunting on ShadowClan territory—or RiverClan's—we will strike back hard and fast, and with the blessing of StarClan, whom you in your folly have chosen to reject."
— Snakestar about StormClan in StormClan's Folly, page 47

Snakestar is a brown tabby tom[1] with yellow eyes[3] and a little bit of white around his muzzle.[4]

History[]

In the Super Editions[]

Firestar's Quest[]

Snaketail is an ancient ShadowClan deputy under the leadership of Dawnstar at the time that SkyClan was driven out of the forest by Twolegs.

StormClan's Folly[]

"[Snakestar] told me that we must be too busy gazing into each other's eyes to lead the Clan properly. So I told him we were done with him, and ShadowClan, and RiverClan...all of them. I told him if they weren't going to help us, we'd leave the forest for good."
―Galestar about asking ShadowClan for help StormClan's Folly, page 110
Snakestar is the leader of ShadowClan. At the Gathering, Snakestar is skeptical of Galestar's alliance with Stripestar, and he fears that the Twolegs will destroy ShadowClan next with their monsters. When Galestar and Stripestar form StormClan against StarClan's approval, Snakestar declares it the end of WindClan and ThunderClan and vows to protect ShadowClan's territory. Kestrelwing later tells Galestar of rumors of Snakestar and Birchstar meeting in secret since the Gathering.
When a fire destroys ThunderClan's former territory and results in scarce prey for StormClan, Galestar attempts to negotiate help from ShadowClan. Snakestar mocks Galestar and Stripestar's leadership and does not believe that they will leave the forest. Seasons later, when the remnants of ThunderClan and WindClan return to the forest, Snakestar and Birchstar listen to their requests for their former territory. ShadowClan had taken over WindClan's moor, and Snakestar is hesitant to give up his territory. Seasons later, Crowstar still struggles to reclaim land for WindClan from Snakestar.
