"These rogues don't follow [Slash] because they're scared of him. They enjoy being mean, and they respect him because he's prepared to do things ordinary cats won't." |
— Stoat about Slash in Riverstar's Home, page 377 |
Stoat is a black-and-white tom.[1]
History[]

Riverstar's Home[]
- Stoat is a member of the Cats of the Park. He taught Ripple how to find Twoleg scraps. Later, Stoat escapes capture from the Twolegs when they destroy the park.
- Seasons later, Riverstar spots Stoat and Squirrel watching in fear at Slash. That night, Stoat, Squirrel, and Finch sneak out of camp to speak with Arc, Riverstar, and Drizzle, and Stoat and Squirrel eagerly greet Riverstar. The two park cats explain how Slash has been demanding prey, with Stoat and Squirrel sneaking prey to the hiding elders. Stoat adds that his followers enjoy being cruel to them. Riverstar formulates a plan to recruit some of Slash's rogues to help them fight and helps train the park cats in secret. Two days later, Stoat follows Riverstar into battle against Slash and his rogues. After Slash's defeat, Stoat scavenges for Twoleg scraps with Squirrel and later helps Rust and Owl repair their den.
