Stone is a long-furred,[6] sleek and well-muscled[7] tabby-and-white tom.[3]

Squirrelflight's Hope[]
- When Squirrelflight and Leafstar are caught snooping around the Sister’s camp, Squirrelflight notices that the toms look younger than the she-cats, but are still sleek and well-fed. Stone and his brother, though not named, sit at the edge of the clearing watching their captives. When Moonlight says that keeping Leafstar and Squirrelflight will send a message to the Clans, Stone frowns and asks what message. Moonlight replies that the Clans might not attack if they know their Clanmates are in danger. Stone scowls at Squirrelflight and says that if the Clans hurt the Sisters, the Sisters will hurt them. Moonlight gently reminds Stone to keep his claws sheathed. Moonlight then stands up and flicks her tail at the two toms, and one of them darts towards the prey-hole, while the other pulls a rabbit out from beneath a gorse bush. Squirrelflight remarks that Stone looks around the age of an apprentice, and Stone tells her that he and Grass are brothers. That night, when Leafstar tries to escape, Stone watches with his brother from across the clearing, and they glance nervously at each other.
- Stone and Grass are later seen digging out earth from beneath a gorse bush. Tempest tells the two toms to use the vines to reinforce the back of the den. Stone tells his brother that he’ll weave them in on the outside, then hauls a vine around to the back of the den.
- Later, Tempest and her sons are seen sharing a squirrel across the clearing, and Tempest tears off a strip of flesh for Stone. That night, Stone stands on a hill outside the Sister’s camp with his brother, surrounded by the Sisters. One by one, each Sister steps up and touches their nose to each brother’s ear. When it is Tempest’s turn, she tells Stone to be happy. Stone exchanges a look of understanding with his brother, and Moonlight sends the two toms off. Stone thanks the gray she-cat before padding away with his brother into the shadows.
