"We wanted the original two Clans to feel proud of being together, and so we made the image of lightning that comes with thunder, and cloud that scuds across the sky when the wind blows, all bound together by vines. The symbol means two Clans have become one." |
— Galestar about StormClan in Ivypool's Heart, page 221 |
StormClan was the combination of ThunderClan and WindClan when their leaders Stripestar and Galestar fell in love. StormClan eventually left the forest territories in search of a new home, though the apparent death of Galestar and her kits resulted in StormClan fading away from Clan memory. Galestar and her family were rescued by the wildcats, and her descendants live on through the wildcats.[1]
Description[]
- StormClan was created by Galestar of WindClan and Stripestar of ThunderClan, who fell in love and decided to unify their Clans so they could be together. However, SkyClan, RiverClan, and ShadowClan opposed the idea since they were hesitant that a large Clan might overpower the others. Despite this, Stripestar and Galestar united their Clans into StormClan and devised a symbol to unify them both. However, the other Clans blamed StormClan for the scarcity of prey caused by Twolegs. As a result, StormClan left the forest in newleaf.[1]
- StormClan faced numerous hardships during their journey to find a new home; they faced predators, Twolegs, floods, and disease, causing some cats to die and others to return the forest. These cats eventually reformed WindClan and ThunderClan. Near the sun-drown-place, StormClan set up a temporary camp so Galestar could give birth to her kits, though the former ThunderClan cats urged her to continue moving before leaf-bare arrived. StormClan left their sheltered camp towards the mountain, though Galestar and her three kits were accidentally left behind in a storm. She and her kits were eventually rescued by a group of wildcats, and Galestar and her family had kits with the wildcats.[1]
- Seasons later, Galestar's descendants lived on through the wildcats.[2] Galestar's story became legend, and some wildcats left to find the Clans, but to no avail.[3] At some point, Stripestar and the rest of StormClan died, and their spirits faded when no one was left to remember them.[4] After Galestar returned briefly to StarClan and remembered the lost StormClan cats, their spirits returned to StarClan.[5]
