On September 14th, 2023, the Warrior Cats website revealed that they were currently working on Ivypool's Heart, which would set the stage for this Super Edition.^[4]
On January 31st, 2024, the Warrior Cats website teased that this book and Ivypool's Heart would "tell an epic story sweeping across two separate super editions, introducing a forgotten generation of warriors." Additionally, they teased it will be released sometime in 2025.^[5]
On September 17th, 2024, the Warrior Cats website hinted that they might explore the StormClan era of the series in the near future.^[6]
On December 9th, 2024, the Warrior Cats website revealed the title, the cover, and the blurb for the book.^[7]
StormClan's Folly is the only Super Edition alongside SkyClan's Destiny that is not titled after a cat.^[2]
- Also like SkyClan's Destiny, it seems to have two point-of-view characters throughout the book.^[2]
It is the first Super Edition to feature two cats on the cover.^[2]
