Strike Slash is a member of the wildcats. While on patrol, Strike Slash encounters Ivypool and Icewing and accuses them of trespassing and stealing prey. Strike Slash is initially aggressive until Ivypool mentions Galestar. She quickly explains how they met Tumble Leap and Stalk Purr, who recently gave birth to a litter of kits. Strike Slash explains how his group are descendants of StormClan. He eventually believes their story and guides the two Clan cats to their camp. As they arrive in camp, Strike Slash greets his mate, Wish Stalk.

Strike Slash introduces Ivypool and Icewing to their elders: Prowl Sleek, Spring Claw, and Hunt Growl. The wildcat tom explains how their elders serve as both leaders and communicate with their ancestors. When foxes attack the camp, Ivypool notices a large fox overpower Strike Slash and rushes to help him. Strike Slash admires Ivypool's battle prowess. After Ivypool and Icewing communicate with the ancestors, Strike Slash, Wish Stalk, Claw Stretch, and Prowl Sleek accompany the Clan cats back to their temporary camp with Tumble Leap, Stalk Purr, and their three kits.
