Chapter description[]
- Talltail races back to camp, intent on finding Heatherstar. As he enters camp, his younger siblings beg him to play, and he feels a pang of sadness as he realizes he'll never know his siblings' warrior names. He spends some time playing with them before leaving to speak with his leader, telling her that he has to leave WindClan.
- He explains to Heatherstar that he needs to make Sparrow pay for killing his father, before also admitting that he wants to see what lies beyond the border. She questions him on Barkface's sign, before relenting and allowing him to leave, with the caveat of saying goodbye to his Clanmates.
- Awkwardly, he announces he's leaving the Clan, much to his Clanmates' dismay. As he says his goodbyes, Barkface accompanies him to the edge of the moor, and the two friends say their goodbyes. Talltail runs towards the Thunderpath, not looking back.
