Chapter description[]

The day after finding the kits, Alderpaw and Needlepaw arrive back home. Alderpaw begins to say his goodbyes to Needlepaw, asking her to keep SkyClan a secret until he speaks with Bramblestar. However, the pair argue about which Clan the kits should go to; Alderpaw argues that it was his visions and Sandstorm's message that guided them to the kits, but Needlepaw insists that it was her interpretation that led them to Twigkit and Violetkit in the tunnel. The two she-kits begin to squeal, and the apprentices stop arguing. Needlepaw reasons that they must split up the kits between their two Clans. However, Molewhisker arrives with Berrynose, Poppyfrost, and Birchfall, having been sent by Bramblestar to search for Alderpaw and Needlepaw. The ThunderClan warriors agree that the kits should come to ThunderClan since they are unwell, with Birchfall reasoning that the Clan leaders can decide where they should go at the Gathering in a few days. Needlepaw relents, and she bids farewell to Alderpaw to return to her camp. Meanwhile, Alderpaw is relieved to finally return home.
