"My littermates said that I was too small... Too weak. But I've proven them wrong. I've learned how to be strong... How to live for blood. Because that's the key. The only answer. I am leader of BloodClan. I am Scourge. AND I HAVE WON!"

Chapter description[]

Underneath a dumpster, Scourge laments that he should be happy, but his thoughts drift to his attacker and begins plotting his revenge. As the day begins, the tom finds food left for him by the Twolegplace cats. He observes them as he walks the streets, noting that they fear him. Scourge smirks as his brother and sister cross his mind, wishing that they could see him now. Cats begin seeking Scourge out to deal with their problems as he notices all he has to do is tell them simple things. Bone and Brick tell him that cats see him as the one in charge around the Twolegplace. Scourge comes to realize that while his new position is good, it also has some downsides.
A couple of weeks later, Bone and Brick seek out Scourge with word of a rogue and their followers causing trouble. Accepting the task at hand, Scourge and the two others head to sort out the problem. As they do, he catches scent of the forest, and wonders if it is the tabby from moons before, but as they close in, realizes it isn't. Scourge is greeted with the sight of the tabby tormenting a she-cat, and he quickly calls out to knock it off. The tabby turns to face him as their followers appear behind them. They remark to Scourge that they'll only talk to the leader of Twolegplace, to which Scourge tells them that he is. The forest rogues laugh at the fact and a white cat steps forward, threatening the leader and making a remark about his size. The comment strikes a nerve with Scourge, who spares a quick glance to his followers, seeing doubt in their eyes. In a quick instance, he strikes out and tears the rogue's throat. The gathered cats look on in shock, before Scourge and his followers stand together and drive out the forest rogues. He reflects on his actions and feels a coldness settle in his heart as he gives Bone and Brick the order that no cat is to take food without his permission.
Following the death, Scourge notices things change around Twolegplace. Cats bring him gifts and trophies and he becomes much more a leader in charge of things. Scourge notes that he knows about everything in the Twolegplace and that its residents fear him. That night, Bone and Brick bring him visitors. Scourge is shocked to see Socks and Ruby. The pair of siblings explain that their Twolegs abandoned them and they don't know how to get their own food. Scourge hesitates for a moment, hearing them beg and then asks them why he should help them. He lectures them when they bring up their blood relation, and notes that the cats of Twolegplace, now named BloodClan, have everything to do with "blood". The tom pities them and feeds them, but orders Bone to escort them from the territory and ensure that they are not welcome back. Scourge's thoughts drift to his plot of revenge on the tabby that attacked him and that he won't be content until their blood has been spilled.
Many moons later, Scourge notes that he is given just that chance for his revenge. Tigerstar and Boulder are brought to him by Bone to discuss the tabby's plans for the forest. Scourge accepts his proposition and in the time following, leads BloodClan to the forest and meets the other Clans. The small tom is then given his chance, after listening to another tom, for his revenge. He faces off against Tigerstar and there he kills the ShadowClan leader, exclaiming that he is Scourge and that he has won after moons of being thought of as nothing but a small cat.
