The Ultimate Guide: Updated and Expanded Edition is the eighth Warriors Field Guide, and a reprint of The Ultimate Guide to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Warriors.[5]

The book is primarily a reprint of 2013's The Ultimate Guide, with updated artwork by Owen Richardson, a few new characters, and some updated pages. Characters that have been removed from the previous edition include Featherwhisker, Millie, Russetfur, Boulder, Nightcloud, Stonefur, Willowshine, Storm and Turtle Tail, Gorsestar, Princess and Smudge, Bone, Fallen Leaves, Graypool, and Midnight. New characters include Alderheart, Twigbranch, Bristlefrost, Rowanclaw, Needletail, Tigerstar (AVoS), Shadowsight, Puddleshine, Harestar, Frecklewish (SkC), Hawkwing, Pebbleshine, Tree, Violetshine, Rootspring, and Darktail.

Format and content[]

The format remains largely the same as the 2013 version with the exception of an updated format for character profiles and a new short story from Firestar and Graystripe's point of views. Each character is accompanied by a bookmark outlining basic information, including Clan, rank, traits, mentors and apprentices, coat and eye color, and a quote. There is also a new section about the new warrior code.

Interesting facts[]

  • This book was first teased as a prize for The Hidden Prophecy short story competition.[7]
  • This book's working title and original ISBN was first revealed on a brochure for Edelweiss. Furthermore, the release date on said brochure was listed as 7 November, 2023,[5] which was later revealed to be incorrect, as official sources would later list the release date as 10 October, 2023.[8]
    • This release date would later be changed once again to 31 October, 2023 for unknown reasons.[4]
  • The working title for this book was The Ultimate Guide: 20th Anniversary Edition.[5]
  • This book was available for two weeks early purchase at New York Comic Con from October 12-October 15, 2023.[9]
