The ancestors are the spirits of the wildcats.[1] Only the wildcats' leaders can speak with the ancestors at a special location, such as the Star Tree.[1][2]
Kits are only granted one part of their name from their parents. Kits are later presented to the ancestors, where they will be given a spirit guide who will guide them for the rest of their life, and they will take part of their mentor's name.[2] For example, Pounce Whisper's spirit guide was Whisper Claw.[3]
