Chapter description[]
- Windstar asks Riverstar if he knew Frostpaw would suffer. He thinks to himself that this is the only way, telling the first WindClan leader that nothing could be changed now. He looks beside him, observing Thunderstar, Shadowstar, and Skystar peering into the pool of water in front of them, looking into the current RiverClan camp. Cats were finishing up their prey while two ShadowClan warriors are still up, waiting for the others to go to sleep.
- The view in the pool changes, depicting Frostpaw laying unconscious with blood in her fur. The other leaders express their worries, concerned whether Frostpaw will live. However, Riverstar holds his ground, informing the other cats that Frostpaw is a very strong cat despite her youth, and RiverClan is in need of a strong messenger.
