Interesting facts
- He is named after his grandfather, Tigerstar.[1]
- Tigerstar's feelings towards Dovewing were first revealed in Erin Hunter Chat 7.[2]
- He has ThunderClan blood through Tawnypelt,[3] and kittypet blood through Hal.[4]
- His daughter, Lightleap, looks exactly like him,[5] and his son, Shadowpaw, also has the same dark stripes as he does.[5]
- Tigerstar is the second known cat to be resurrected by StarClan, falling behind Windstar.[6]
- Tigerstar still holds resentment towards Jayfeather for not saving Flametail.[7]
Author statements
- According to Kate, after the events of The Last Hope, Dovewing chose Bumblestripe as her mate over Tigerstar,[8] as Bumblestripe was the more sensible opinion, and loving a cat from another Clan wouldn't work out well.[9] In Bramblestar's Storm, Dovewing and Bumblestripe did break up, however, and Dovewing's unresolved feelings for Tigerstar played a role.[10]
- Kate has said Tigerstar is the most interesting modern leader to her.[11]
Mistakes
- Tigerstar was originally described as a golden tabby,[12] although this was changed in Sunrise to his current dark brown tabby appearance.[13] This description was accidentally used in The Fourth Apprentice,[14] despite his description being correct in the allegiances.[15]
- He was mistakenly said to have green eyes.[16]
- Either he or his brother, Flametail, were mentioned as female.[17]
- He was mistakenly called Tigerstar prior to becoming leader.[18]
