Well for GIMP, go to your lineart layer, fill the outside of the lineart in red, and then use the color select tool to select the red. Then, erase the red, then go to your shading layer and erase the waste there (make your brush super big, for it to get it all). It works on any layer, actually. Also, define the light. This really does look darker than the star, unless you picked from an area that was shaded on it. —spooky is that... a furry cat?!? 23:40, 3/31/2017

Try just replacing the lineart layer; some parts look dark gray. Overlapping the lineart layer should fix any problems like that. Also, smooth the paler parts, because this image shouldn't have any, and it kinda looks like it does. The layer with your lineart should be the topmost layer, or second topmost depending on how you do your eyes and stuff. Basically, the lineart should be above the base pelt, shading, highlights, ect. —Jayce(18:45, 4/02/2017)

Define the secondary pale parts on the haunch. On the warrior, you can see how it goes from a pale part, to another shade, then to the base color. It's on the apprentice too, just less visible because of that shading source. Also, define them on the belly ad well. The colors still seem a bit off.. why not just get the file with the actual colors instead of colorpicking? Jayie's shading method almost always has tinted shading, and she also uses highlights, which is bound to throw off the colors, even with the lighter areas. —Jayce(03:43, 4/16/2017)

I hate to be that guy but it honestly is still too dark. I've provided you with a picture of what the differences are (excuse the poor mouse handwriting). The face color is a different color than the rest of the body, and it appears as if there's random pale parts on the back and shoulder. You need more stripes on the face. Define the ear fur a little more, and I believe your stripes are a bit too thick. The tail also should not have a pale part on it, as the apprentice image came first.
