Here are some guidelines all users must comply with

Make sure to follow the guidelines
The limit is 40 images, regardless if some are CBAed or withdrawn. If you exceed it, your image will be immediately declined.
Your image is yours until it is archived, do not reserve a new one until yours has completed CBA
If your image has been declined due to the one month limit, you must wait two weeks to reclaim your image. This gives other users the chance to work on it if they wish.

If you use the airbrush for the shading, you may want to just go over a section once with a black shading color, that way it doesn't get over defined. Or, just make the shading have more intensity as it goes away from the lightsource. But I'd say this shading is slightly over defined.. I guess I'll show you one of my private images for an example..xD I'm addicted with Ezimba. I'm their number 1 visitor lately. Here: [1] On that one I made it light-ish, and not too dark or else I wouldn't be able to see my texture anymore. But here's a solid: [2] On that one, though, I may not have defined it enough..xD But, just keep in mind: The darker the cat, the darker the shading, the lighter the cat, the lighter the shading. :3 -is a very wise kitteh xD- Also, this may be the longest section I've ever written in PCA..lol Frosty^☾Sup^erna^tural 12:52, November 7, 2013 (UTC)

Well my method for shading is to take a super fuzzy smudge tool, make it about 30px or so, and gently smudge the edges of the shading back and forth, to make it seem a bit more blurred. As for Dark's comment about darkness and base colors, that's untrue, for the most part. Shading darkness is up to the artist, but the artist has to pull it off- you can have it as dark as you want to as long as it looks nice. Rain legs 01:02, November 8, 2013 (UTC)

To my knowledge at least, you'd be publicly uploading it on there, which isn't allowed with wwiki blanks. Best to use some other hosting site that's private such as iaza. You can see the earpink just fine? o.o It's practically whacking people in the face, imo. And if I darken it, I'll have to lighten it. So, it's fine. As for the pattern, it's from an actual black-and-white cat, so I won't change it.. And, they are defined enough, and if I define them anymore, it'll make this image look slightly over-defined, and possibly pixelated. But yeah, Hawky, I'll define that shading. c: But, thanks for your comments, Brightpool, and please recognize that I'm not brushing them off, but, because what you have mentioned, are in perfect shape and form, I will not change unless someone else points it out/agrees to your comments. I'm actually going to agree with Brightpool on this one. I think the black is a teeny bit too dark (and coming from me, that's saying something since I love black and white cats), and they seem a little too overblurred. The earpink could also be a little more pink-ish, imho, but not all that more. I think the pattern itself is good, however. —Jayce(18:06, 11/11/2013)

Blur the shading quite a fair bit. Also, lighten the black a bit and darken the shading on the black only. Also, what's up with the tail, and why is there a lighter gray stripe on it? If that's shading, it should be darker, not lighter? I'm confused as to what's part of the pattern on the tail and what's shading and/or highlights. —Jayce(17:09, 11/12/2013)

Re-uploaded. I re-did parts of the image, so the black was less intense so you could see the shading. Zipped the stupid pale stripe on the tail, which originally was a stupid-attempt-at-shading-black. :P I tried to make the black not look over smudged/blurred. But hey, it never looks good to me. _{sorry for making you touch the shading ;c}The shading on either sides of the belly/back (yes, that whole mid-section area) are very "streaky" (for lack of better word) and need generous expansion, blurring, and lightening (they are very dark/gray). Also, the patches are extremely blurry in some areas, and not blurred in others. If you want, hit me and email and I'll be more than happy to help you with tinting so you can not have to worry about the shading looking gray, but promice me you will use it.. .-. There is cream on the belly, but it's in a shaded area so it's a bit harder to see. I think the earpink's fine personally, I can see it fine and it's the same color as the other images. Lol you're right. The tail and belly read that the light coming from our right, and the hind leg off the ground as well as the face read coming from the left, and the other legs are too flat to read. See, when you post images, the thing should read [[File:Bluestar.queen.png]], but instead, sometimes it reads [[File:Bluestar.queen.png|left]]. That aligns the image to the left (or right/center depending on what it says to the left of the pipe), and it should just be placed normally on the page. What it does is forces the image to stay in one spot, and also messes up the sections below it, should it be small enough. Since the other images aren't aligned, it forces the other images (and sections) to appear skewed, so to say, and also causes the images to not be sectioned properly. All in all, it's a pretty easy thing to fix; just go into source mode and make sure the coding says exactly what I said. ^^ —Jayce(21:31, 11/8/2013)

I think it's fine. I used the same color of earpink for both ears, and that ear is in the shadows, so it wouldn't be as easy to see. Plus, if I remember correctly, the earpink doesn't have to be super-defined, as it isn't like that on real cats. However, if more members agree with you, I will change it. The shading still should be thickened and darkened on the brown. Why not try shading the white and brown with two different layers? Als, thicken the shoulder shading. I'm also not sure what color you're using to shade, but with how it is, it's starting to change the coloring (especially along the back), and it doesn't seem to match in certain spots. In the case of this shade of brown, try using a darker brown or something along those lines. Never use black- it looks green when you do that. The stripes are blurred kind of oddly to me, for example, in some places, it's blurred/smudged but in other areas, it is not. Might I suggest that you unblur the areas where you have done so, and then take the blur tool, put it on a very low setting, and go over the stripes that way? Yes, I am, as I have stated on the vacation page that I have work to deal with, and I would not reserve an image if I could not see it through to completion. That is ear fur that is in the ear, that is why it is "two different colors". I had not had time to perfect it. I thought she wouldn't get a nicked ear, because all is healed in StarClan? Well she did ask about the tailstripe after you said it was fine. I agree with her, although I don't think it's too far off to make much of a visible difference, so I think in this case, it's really your choice. As for the color, would it be too much of a problem to shift slightly more towards the previous image's coloring for the base? The tufts of fur in the ear need to be spread out a bit, so you can see more of the individual hairs rather than a giant mass. The easiest way to fix this would to be to switch the shading on the hind leg closest to us so that the light is coming from in front rather than behind, and switch the shading on the face to do the same, as the rest of the body's lighting suggests that. Just a note, you can always use off-white for white cats and make it not look gray if you don't overblur your shading. The gray affect with darker shading is only given because one can't see the edges of the shading very well, or it isn't well-defined enough. Anyways, sharpen your shading, especially along her front legs and chest, and add a bit more structure to her facial shading, where cheekbones, the bridge of her noze, muzzle, etc., would cause more highlights to be defined than others. Define the shading, whether you darken it or sharpen it or do a combination of both- I can't tell where it is on the face, the legs, or where it's coming from anywhere save for her tail. Highlights are not mandatory on images. Perhaps suggest an alternative, since I'm not entirely sure Splook uses highlights. —Jayce(07:52, 11/19/2013)

Just because earlier images have it doesn't always mean it's the correct thing to do. Save yourself a nomination for a tweak later and create a proper light source now. :l Rain legs 02:22, November 20, 2013 (UTC)

After looking back at it, I think her light source comes from a much upper right-hand corner. The light would be high enough to light the haunch, shoulder area, and face, but further right enough to make sense ouo Queen Beebs 02:25, November 20, 2013 (UTC)

More of the back would be in shadow as you have to take her whole head into account, and that would cast a shadow behind her. The spot directly behind her head and neck is her back, so you would be required to place a shadow right there. The muzzle needs more shading under it, along the chin and jawline more, and the ear's shading would have to be tweaked to show that it's coming from more of an above angle than straight in front. The haunch would still have a bit more lighter areas along its right side. There is no plausible way your light source can work the way your shading is currently placed.

If you wish to go through a tweak nomination later on and work on this again, be my guest to proceed, but if you'd like to save both yourself and the project some time, it's much easier to get this done right now. The highlight on the haunch needs to be dropped lower on the right side, and the shading along the rump raise dup higher, onto her mid-back. The shading to the left of her neck, along her back, needs to be extended out, too, and will likely also reach her mid-back. There should be a tiny highlight on her chest, right where it really curves out, And more of her tail-tip would be in light, as well, while the shadow by her rump would be extended to the right a bit more (still along the tail). And I've seen your work before, so I know you can do this, so add a bit more depth to the shading on her face- show that this cat has cheekbones and that her face isn't completely round. The shading between her foreleg and haunch closest to us, that covers the tiny stretch of exposed side, too, seems awfully square, although that will likely be fixed when you adjust the light spot on the haunch. Okay, the reason my eye depth and shading stink is because I don't have the shading or eye placement. For all the other chararts I make (that don't have queen blanks) I usually look on the apprentice tutorials, but they don't have it on there.
