Here are some guidelines all users must comply with

Make sure to follow the guidelines
The limit is 40 images, regardless if some are CBAed or withdrawn. If you exceed it, your image will be immediately declined.
Your image is yours until it is archived, do not reserve a new one until yours has completed CBA and/or has been archived due to other matters.
If your image has been declined due to the one month limit, you must wait two weeks to reclaim your image. This gives other users the chance to work on it if they wish.
If your image has gone less than three (3) days without comments, please do not ask for comments or a CBA. It is common to go a couple consecutive days without comments before a CBA is set into place. To ask before the three day timespan has passed puts your image at risk of being declined.
Please do not align your images! This messes up the structure of the page.

Defining the light and shading means that basically you need to erase either some shading or put some more shading in, and in this case, it appears you need to erase some shading. So define the light on the legs? :P User:StormSongz/Sig 13:46, April 17, 2015 (UTC)

Reuploaded When I defined the light on the back two legs, it looked weird so I ended up vaguely getting the front right paw and not doing the back left paw. Reuploaded I decided I would just basically darken the shading everywhere or else it would look off. To me, at least. I can't darken the shading any more because I don't want it to be black, and I have trouble with using black for shading. They aren't being mean. They're just reminding me of what I can do to improve this image. I'm struggling a bit to add shading so I have to be a bit more careful. Here is a suggestion for the shading: darkening it doesn't always work. Adding light to the legs and tail will help a lot in this case. Erase some on the shading where the light is hitting then blur it a bit. - Fox^{僕たちはひとつの光} 03:21, May 6, 2015 (UTC)

I can see you changed the earpink, but you have to say reuploaded when you post a new change. But the earpink still needs to be triangular. Try using a binary pixel tool. Erase the ear pink all together, redraw it in a triangle, and blur it very slightly. User:StormSongz/Sig 01:21, April 16, 2015 (UTC)

Still a problem with the earpink. Look at some other images to get a feel for how you should draw the earpink triangle. As for the other parts of Slightfoot, some of the shading is leaking away from the legs and stuff. If you want to look closely and change it, then I'd advise you to do that. I actually saved the image and zoomed it in to see details, and I think I can see a black outline around the white chest and the bottom whisker. There's also a black hard-eged splotch on his back. Remove some of the shadow from her hind leg where it curls when she sits, as well as the knob of shadow at the back of her tail; it should be a straight shadow line. Okay, because now the shading is looking... green? I suggest that you shade in black and lower the opacity (you don't have to though) but at least make the shading less greenish. Did you set your shading layer to multiply? It might help the shadows look a little more tinted to the base color and natural. If you just shade with black and lower the opacity, it might throw the color off a tad. It's just a suggestion, you don't have to go with it if you don't want Iveh Yo ! 18:10, April 23, 2015 (UTC)

Hmm, I think Bramble only really needs to add highlights on part of the chest and the two front legs. Other than that, she doesn't look all that gray- naturally, she'll be a tiny bit gray because of the shading, but in this case, since there's texture, she'll look slightly off-white. We have sharp-edged tabbies all the time, and no one's every had an issue with it. Plus, I think smudging these would ruin the pattern. I spefically based it off of Lizardstripe, and her stripes aren't really smudged at all. Friendly reminder that the pictures inside the book are grayscale, so we cannot assume she was blue there. If it's for the cover, it wouldn't be a kit, it would be her current rank as of the cover- which we don't know. I'll say that because that's what it looks like. I've been here far longer than any active member, save for Scarlet and David, and we've had this happen in the past. You think I can't tell when someone wants art or not? What book is this alt for? The discussion was more about The Ultimate Guide and Cats of the Clans, from what I gathered, not Bluestar's Prophecy. The chapter art is not counted as a legitimate image because it is in grayscale and there is no color. If the alt is from TUG and CotC, then yes, it's warranted. But Fox just said above that it's for the chapter art for BP- which that is not a legitimate one. I see nothing in that discussion about the chapter pictures. If that's what this alt is for, then it is invalid. If the art is for her blue appearance, then that's another story entirely and the image is warranted. I was under the impression that from the discussion, that's what this alt was for- nothing more, nothing less. Both the revamped and old allegiences Kate published as well as the wiki listed him as "A brown tom with white splotches." I can find no mention of black on his pelt anywhere. color tweaking is oh so very easy. The warrior images and ones of the like came long before the StarClan versions. Just because that one is the main one, doesn't mean it's the first in the set. The StarClan and kit versions can very easily be tweaked just by altering the base layers, and perhaps even a color switch on the other images, since the old ones do have some minor flaws. —Jayce(12:25, 5/7/2015)
