Love these! The head looks a bit off though. Sorry if you don't understand this but it's hard to explain: Try connecting the <-- line from the head to the body. Then make the <-- side of the muzzle curve upward a bit and the chin protrude from that line. Basically shapen the muzzle/face a little more. Here's a red line

Could you specify which lines? Not sure if you are heading about the whiskers over the eyes. It's a preference of mine but i can remove them if necessary.

(Apologies for double comment; just got on my pc LOL) Here's a redline for the face. I don't necessarily think the perspective would change the level of the eyes, and I think they should be leveled out to be on the same line. Also, the muzzle needs to be a bit more rounded ish? The thickness should be consistent across the long haired and the short haired, at least. I still think the short haired linear art is too thick.

Perhaps shorten/erase the muzzle lines to make the style more consistent with the other blanks? Also, I think the linear art is too thick on the short haired, especially on the back.

Here's a reference for the muzzle. I think it's fine to have them stylized like what Patch is going for. Our blanks have a wide variety of styles and the StarClan blanks had the same issue of "match the blank styles" and in the end that got overruled. This is super nitpicky, but maybe fill in the space between the hind foot and the shoulder to front arm in with white? The line for the shoulder should be able to connect to the elbow, if that makes any sense - or the elbow should curve outwards. Also, the fluff on the haunch starting there protruding looks somewhat off on the longhair. Could you maybe add some tufts of fur above? Appledash ^{the light of honor} 08:50, January 30, 2019 (UTC)

The muzzles still seem a bit off... I'm unsure if it's a neglect of a perspective but it keeps not looking right to me. It may be easier if you center the face rather than having them facing away, since the way it looks right now, it's as if you drew the muzzle in the center of the face, moved it over, then added lines to connect it to the side of the face, is the only way I can describe it bluntly. —Echobelle ♡ ^{we cast off tomorrow!} (09:04, 1/30/2019)

I fixed these problems but i don't know if I'll be able to reupload today because my laptop is being annoying. I didn't touch the muzzles though, I'd rather not mess with them anymore then i have. Call me bias for working on the blank, but i really dont see it necessary and think they look fine.

Not to be nitpicky, but these are the warrior blanks. We're going to be making over 600 images with them. The muzzle may look fine to you and its "unnecessary" to change them, but these images are literally going to become wwiki's staple and that's why I've been so particular with your anatomy. I've studied cat anatomy for years and I'm trying to use my knowledge to help you since this blank is literally going to become wwiki's namesake, just as the last blanks were. I'm going to quickly slip in to state that I agree with Echo on the muzzles, and that i also think the ear lineart could use a tad smoothing while i'm at it. SquidwardPlays 18:35, January 30, 2019 (UTC)

To add onto my critique, you blanks have their face at a 3/4ths position, meaning the right cheek and eyes will be more defined than the left eye and cheeks. Here's a redline of a real life example of a cat at that angle. The face should flow together, not in a perfect circle, and I think the face shape, eyes and muzzle are whats throwing off the perspective and proportions. —Echobelle ♡ ^{we cast off tomorrow!} (18:57, 1/30/2019)

I think the position of the head shouldn't be changed (it should still face away from the center because that's part of the pose), but the muzzle could use some tweaking.

Pretty much all the critiques I have are to do with the anatomy and perspective. I found two refs, one for the body and one for the head, which seem to match very closely to this pose. I made a redline (rainbowline) here. Here's the explanations for each color:

Red: This kind of goes against some of the critique you've already gotten, but the shoulders are way too defined. Especially in poses like this, you can just barely make out where they are. Shoulder that are too defined tend to look attached on like a toy rather than being part of the body. If you remove the lines marked in red, that should help a ton.

Dark blue: The back should arc a lot more in this kind of sitting position. The original warrior had the same issue, so it'd be really nice to fix it in this version. And if you look at the area above the shoulders, the flatness there before it starts curving also helps give the shoulders form without making them look attached on.

Light blue: Similar to the shoulders, the haunch is a bit too defined. It also seems like it's behind the front leg nearest to us, which seems rather odd for this kind of pose. Might seem more natural to move it in front of the front leg instead.

Yellow: Usually you can't easily make out a clear chest area dividing the two front legs, but if you choose to keep that line, it definitely needs to be moved up higher. I tried to mark where that chest area is on the ref, but it kind of blended in, you might have to zoom in close to see it.

Orange: The muzzle is a bit small right now and doesn't seem to follow the form of the face. If you make the --> lip a good bit wider that should help, and maybe also make the <-- lip just a tiny bit wider too? I marked it on the ref so you can see how the form kind of wraps around the face.

Dark green: It seems like the head's tilted ever so slightly downwards, not up, so the jaw seems to big right now and like it's jutting out. This differs a bit from the ref since the ref is looking up a bit.

Pink: This is very minor but maybe increase the size of the nose by 1-2 pixels? It's a bit small right now, and will seem even more so if you change the muzzle.

Light green: The perspective is off on the <-- eye, if you look at the ref it's almost all the way to the cheek, with hardly any space between.

Purple: The <-- ear needs to be moved up so that the top lines up with the other ear. The perspective of the head being slightly turned wouldn't make the ear move down much. However the perspective does make that ear thinner than --> one, so maybe thin it out a bit.

That looks great! The muzzle looks fine, definitely doesn't need to be rounded more. Cat lips are ovals. Maybe lengthen the shorthair tail just a pinch, and remove the little top shoulder line on the back and replace it with a more flattened area in the spot of the back (like the body ref I linked before). Having the line makes them look like they're protruding out of the body a bit, which tends to only happen if the cat is crouching or leaning their head down, not usually when sitting. Cats do have fairly small heads, i think they're fine. And I want to avoid resizing anything because that's terrible.

Hmm is it just me or is the arc on the back different between the longhair and the shorthair? I'm not able rn to check them in an art program to look closer and see, so if I'm just seeing differences that are caused by the fluff you can ignore me. Paleh Send help 06:50,2/7/2019

Wall of text round 2. Ok I'm gonna go into hyper nitpick mode right now, but I think that's probably a good idea since these will be the most used blanks on the wiki. The majority of these suggestions are entirely optional.

The front paws a just a little flat, maybe round them and make them like 1-2px taller? And I know the <-- cheek is wider on the longhair purely because of fluff, but since it's such a big difference in size it kind of makes the lh and sh seem like they're looking in different directions. Either widening the sh's <-- cheek slightly or shrinking the lh's should fix it. The fluff lineart on the --> cheek of the lh also seems to be a bit messy, with a bunch of seemingly random pixels (both black and white) that don't seem to follow the form of the fur clumps. Also, this spot on the sh tail looks a bit thicker than the rest of the tail.

The next few things are pretty much all related to the longhairs, here's a redline circling the areas I'm talking about so it's easier to understand. So the fluff on the far shoulder, haunch, and lower half of the tail (the half closer to the tail tip), have a bit of a different style, with more lines and thinner thickness. The lines I circled in dark blue have a really great style/line quality, so maybe you could try making the other areas more similar by removing some lines and thickening them? The fluff I circled in orange looks as if it's cutting into the leg right now rather than fluffing out of it. You could probably just remove those lines entirely since the leg closer to use doesn't have it, but if you keep it maybe make it puff out like the fluff above it. Circled in light blue, the line for the toe on the hind foot is just a tiny bit long, could be chopped off by a few pixels. There's also this transparent/waste area circled in green between the hind foot and the tail. On the haunch circled in red there's this little cut out area that makes it look a bit jagged. The other red circles are the most nitpicky of all, there's a single white pixel between the two legs that looks a little off and could probably be filled in. There's also two spots near the face where there's closed off areas that won't be reached by the magic wand tool, and those have a tendency to end up with waste in them very frequently (like between the original leaders' front paws). The one caused by the whisker can probably be fixed by just chopping that whisker shorter, since it is actually longer than the others. You might end up with one of those types of areas by fixing the sh tail depending on how you do it, but that's fine, I just wanted to point out those spots where it wasn't actually necessary for them to be closed off.

And finally, this is absolutely a stylistic thing and just a matter of preference so feel free to ignore it, but I feel like the nose lines would look better if they didn't fully connect to the eyes, and instead stopped a couple pixels away like this. It just makes the face look a bit... softer I guess?

You might make the long fur, especially on the tail a bit more "flowy." You could achieve this by reducing some of the lines on the tail and rework them so they're more horizontal and wavy. I disagree with lengthening the necks any further. They're going to look unnatural if they get any longer.

Also, some pixel-sized nitpicks on the shorthair to smooth out some uneven and jagged areas, all optional. Red = remove pixel, blue = add (probably gonna have to zoom in to see them, sorry I should have made the color more visible). Here's a little spot on the longhair too. Paleh Send help 06:53,2/9/2019

Oh there was one other small thing I was wondering if you could change. The lineart on the ears looks a bit.....idk how to describe it. Not bad! I just think it would look better less connected. It’s hard to explain what I mean so I made some quick changes myself that I can show you on Discord. I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like the tail only appears sharply curved because of the perspective, doesn't seem like it's actually bending at that angle (though maybe that was the intention? in which case maybe yeah it could be tweaked). Define the eye depth, and the shading looks unnatural and flat. Try running the dodge tool over the edges to make it smooth. Earpink in the right ear should not leak past the ear line. Re-uploaded I tried color-picking the base color again from her other images. The deputy does have a darker base color, but I color-picked from the apprentice since that came first (and the base color looks lighter). To me, it honestly looks like the lightness is mainly because of the shading. On her other images, it appears that the shading either covers her pale parts or covers a lot of area.

No, there really wouldn't be any light there with this light source. With light coming from the left and a pose like this, that whole --> half of the body is entirely in shadow. I don't mean to be rude but yes I'm well aware that it's gray and that's exactly why I said not bother commenting on that stuff since I'm redoing it all... I mean you're free to leave whatever comments you want but chances are unless it's about the placement of the markings, I'm most likely already planning on fixing it in the next upload. Shading's gonna be redone, markings will be tidied up, earpink will be redone, and all the colors will probably be tweaked to have a better contrast and look more like the source image. The rush was the fact that I was gonna lose my reservation. I did bring the image to a completed stage, I just decided I wasn't happy with how it turned out and didn't have the extra time to redo before my reservation would expire. And anyways I still do need feedback on the placement of the markings since it's very hard to interpret where the markings are on the cotc image due to the glow, and I clearly stated I was redoing everything except that so I'm not quite sure why there would be confusion there. Hm, I think it's no different than when people notice things about their image and then ask others not to comment on them. What Paleh did was perfectly acceptable and has been allowed within the project for many years now. Many leads, as well as regular members, have done it, due to noticing something different about the image themselves that they already know they need to fix. Regardless, are you going to be changing the base as well? Because that's definitely really hard to tell where that ends and your gray (is it gray??) patches begin. Are they also stripes on the gray or is this texture? I'm finding it extremely hard, and I can't really tell what you're going for here. —Jayce(18:25, 2/11/2019)

The eyes look like they are strabismus. The pupils should be fairly consistently vertical and should not be mirrored in each eye as the cats head is slightly to the side. • the header should be "for evaluation" since this is your first image
• add shading on muzzle, <-- haunch and <-- back paw
• define shading on the front paws
• add light on --> haunch and --> back paw
• expand the shading on the chest and below the chin/neck area
• expand the shading on the head/face, and add some to the ears
• smooth out the shading a bit. btw I love the style of shading
• she's looking a lil cross eyed, maybe shift over one of the pupils a tiny bit?
