This is the Project Character Art Approvals Page
Place new character art for approval here. Discussions should be routed to the discussion page, while all Art tweaks should be routed to the tweak page, and all Tweak nominations should be routed to the nominations page.
Here are some guidelines all users must comply with:
The limit is 60 images. If you exceed it, your image will be immediately declined.
Your image is yours until it is archived, do not reserve a new one until yours has completed CBA and/or has been archived due to other matters.
If your image has been declined due to the one month limit, you must wait two weeks to reclaim your image. This gives other users the chance to work on it if they wish.
If your image has gone less than five (5) days without comments, please do not ask for comments or a CBA. It is common to go a couple consecutive days without comments before a CBA is set into place. To ask before the five day timespan has passed puts your image at risk of being declined.
Please do not align your images! This messes up the structure of the page.
Please use this section to put images up for approval only.
Ghost Blanks - For Approval
File:Ghost.tweak.png Didn't feel right putting "Tweaked" as the heading on this page. I did change a couple things that were bothering me before I uploaded them (such as the far front leg, the cheek fluff on the longhaired, and the back leg placement so that it actually lined up with the other paws). Comments? — maxゴジラ(01:10, 02/4/2020)
reuploaded don't mind me — maxゴジラ(01:12, 02/4/2020)
^ It was intentional due to the perspective. The only thing that is facing forward is the cat's face and the chest slightly, but, to match the original ghost blanks, the front paws and such are facing away from us - also per the linked reference above as well. — maxゴジラ(03:06, 07/4/2020)
Maybe give the paw pads more shape. Right now they just kind of look like circles with lines going through them, try to make them look more like individual shapes if that makes sense.---Glacier() 14:30, April 6, 2020 (UTC)
Gonna leave a wall instead of peppering comments here and there, sorry in advance. Would you mind making the short-haired's tail thinner? I also think the ears could stand to be made slightly smaller - some breeds have it that large, but in the interest of being a more generic cat design. Also, very broad stroke, I know, but I think the fur lines on the long-furred could stand to reach a little deeper, while they should be less deep* for lack of better word, on the short-furred. To create a bigger difference between them. Also gonna leave a few pixel removal (red)/addition (blue) suggestions here. Just the typical type stuff, smoothing and the like - take or leave, I just had time to make it.—spookyis that... a furry cat?!?15:05, 4/06/2020
So, I can see that you did define the depth, but, I think the overall shading could be smoothed out, especially the area above the back leg - which also wouldn't reach that high with your current source. Try this redline for shading; the lighter red is what I'd recommend as your first layer of shading, and the darker red is where the depth is mainly required. Once that is properly smoothed out, so that it doesn't look hard-edged, which I think is what's throwing me at the moment, the depth might actually be fine at the moment. I'm also not really seeing a difference with the earpink either? — maxゴジラ(01:35, 07/4/2020)
When I said darker, I do mean darker. And still, darker. I'm looking at it this way; if you overshoot, that's fine, but bumping it up little by little really isn't helping in terms of my repeating comments reflecting it. The bum and the neck probably about 5% opacity more, while the rest of it's gonna be in the 10-13% ballpark.—spookyis that... a furry cat?!?01:42, 4/08/2020
Her eye colour seems a little warmer and more yellow on the apprentice and kit than what you've currently got here. — maxゴジラ(01:27, 07/4/2020)
reuploaded i was having a little trouble with the eye color bc it was dulled in the other sprites by the wiki tyb 🌌owo??? 01:33, April 7, 2020 (UTC)Tybaxel
That's very fair; the hexcode I used for the kit is #C6902E and for the depth, I just added that on multiply, if that helps? — maxゴジラ(01:37, 07/4/2020)
reuploaded thanks!! fixed tyb 🌌owo??? 02:15, April 7, 2020 (UTC)Tybaxel
No worries! One last thing from me I promise; on the apprentice, there seems to be a little gap of white underneath the chin and the black chest. — maxゴジラ(02:18, 07/4/2020)
Hmm, could you curve the haunch shading to contour with the body shape a little more? Just to make the haunch appear rounder, if you get what I mean. The shading also seems to be leaking away from the linear slightly at the elbow of the << front leg.—spookyis that... a furry cat?!?16:41, 4/08/2020

Hmm, could you smooth the shading out? Seems a bit blotchy to me. Might be the light source. Given, if the light is also coming from the top as it looks like, there'd be less light on the legs, and the shading elsewhere on the body would contour more with the blank's body shape.—spookyis that... a furry cat?!?01:26, 4/08/2020
Hmm. Better for the legs. However, I do think that generally; there is too much shading on the body; it goes higher on the flank than it would need to with a from-above source, now, as with any part of the body (top of the tail, back of the neck, ears, curving into facial shape) that is at the top of the image, needing more light.—spookyis that... a furry cat?!?16:44, 4/08/2020
What I'm essentially trying to convey is this; all of the red is where light would be hitting if a sun was sitting right above the cat - thus, anything within the red shouldn't be shaded. Green's where shading could be added, because it's hidden beneath the tail, and thus not getting light. Blue's a small bit of discolored lineart I noticed. I would also lighten the base the barest pinch; just to still be black but so the shading/lineart is more visible.—spookyis that... a furry cat?!?20:02, 4/08/2020
Sorry, I didn’t know it mattered.---Glacier() 19:17, April 7, 2020 (UTC)
There’s a little bit of waste near the top right ear (our right). Could you also smooth out the shading on the two front legs? And there’s a fewwww pixels on the back (close to where the tail connects) where the stripe runs through that aren't as dark. I'm not sure if this is intentional or not. This is really good! 😀 Ⓦⓘⓝⓣⓔⓡ ✣ICouldn'tSayItToMyself ✣ 02:10, April 8, 2020 (UTC)
stripes could be smudged just a wee bit more. david 🌈 13:15, April 8, 2020 (UTC)
It's nice to be back! Quarantine has me bored so I thought I'd try another image. Ⓦⓘⓝⓣⓔⓡ ✣ICouldn'tSayItToMyself ✣ 22:02, April 7, 2020 (UTC)
I think the base should be lightened a little. With the darker texture on top - she doesn't look pale gray perse, overall and from color pick, more just a shade of medium gray on the lighter side.—spookyis that... a furry cat?!?22:16, 4/07/2020

define the light on the legs a bit? david 🌈 13:12, April 8, 2020 (UTC)
Honestly, I feel like this should be her normal image, since, as far as I can recall, we have no proof that the unnamed tortoiseshell in Sqirrelflight's Hope is Hawk. It could just be another cat who was never named. BluestarLeaf flying in the wind 20:33, April 8, 2020 (UTC)
There's not really any proof, no; Hawk is never said outright to be a tortoiseshell. But, through some hoop-jumping logic and process of elimination, PC's keeping it sooo....(internal shrug) —spookyis that... a furry cat?!?20:58, 4/08/2020
can u mak her more ginger, she just looks light brown to me david 🌈 00:58, April 9, 2020 (UTC)
so glad she has some common sense — maxゴジラ(21:17, 08/4/2020)
Maybe add some depth to the tail? You have no idea how long I looked at this so I could leave constructive criticism and say how much I love my baby. For some reason I just like Finchpaw...---Glacier() 23:00, April 8, 2020 (UTC)
reuploaded; hopefully that helps, the shading is right ontop of the pale colour so its gonna look lighter than the rest of the normal shading. — maxゴジラ(23:11, 08/4/2020)
