Mallinois, this looks pretty good. However, Kitsu said that there would be time for previous pixels later. We need many more current pixels, which are our top priority. PLEASE NOTE
We are NOT using the official art (including the cover art, the art from the Official Site, the images found at the beginning of chapters, and the art found in Cats of the Clans) in Project Character Art. We have no sure way of determining which cat it really is depicted in the art, and there also could and most likely would be problems with copyright violation.

Briarkit - For Approval

I drew Briarkit. Any constructive criticism is appreciated. GB 03:44, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

A few things. One, the background cannot be colored, and also needs to be transparent. I can fix that for you. Two, the eyes are "missing." Three, there needs to be more blending and shading. FxC **The Waterfall** 13:34, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

1. I will fix the background, but I would appreciate it if you made it transparent.
2. Her eye-color hasn't been said yet; if it is revealed in Long Shadows, I'll add it.
3. If you can give me some tips on how to do the shading and blending, I'll work on it. GB 14:39, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Idf you downloaded an art program you should have a blurtool if you do you use a darker shade around the edges then you use the blurtool to blend them together.--Redflare 14:45, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

I reuploaded Briarkit; I attempted to some shading. Like it? GB 15:32, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

It's better!--JKO 21:18, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Jakko! FxC, any comments? GB 22:38, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the great comments! If there's anything else I can do to improve it (besides blurtool :p), tell me! GB 22:53, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Looks better. The outline need to be black though. For the eyes, I know it hasn't been revealed. I suggest green - it's really neutral. --FxC **The Waterfall** 02:19, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

If we left things out to wait for details from the books, pretty much none of the characters would be able to be done. I'd personally suggest a generic cat-eye-color like amber. Outlines need to be black. Shading is needed. And the pink selected for inside the ears... It's rather... bright and unnatural.. Maybe suggest a softer, gentler pink.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 16:37, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Added her eyes. But I forgot about the black outline, fix that as soon as I can! GB 00:24, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Did the outline. GB 23:33, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

It looks like the outline was changed from the original lineart... and the eyes... have this creepy staring Zombie thing going on...  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 14:40, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Kitsufox is right. It does look like a zombie with these eyes.ZZ Top 19:46, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Maybe you should just draw in little pupils to make it look more natural. 97.115.124.162 03:04, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

I agree...--JKO 03:05, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

This really does look good, GB. Just draw some pupils in like 97... said and blur the shading and ears and it'll look great! --Bramble Bramble's Realm 22:22, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Re-uploaded. I have GIMP now! GB 01:06, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Much improved. The eyes are still... a bit off. You might wish to spend some more time on them. And the shading needs to get blended into the picture, as does the pink on the inside of the ears (right now it just looks like a dollop of paint fell there). You've sorted the outline issue wonderfully, though.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 15:12, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Kitsu! I'm on it. GB 15:16, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Better? GB 15:27, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

The ear pink is still unblended and incredibly bright. The shading is still un-blended. The eyes do look good, though.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 17:25, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

I'll take your advice, Kitsu. I'll work on Briarkit. On the changes. GB 23:59, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Better? GB 00:07, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Your'e so close. I think what'll help is making the pink of the ears more triangular. 97.115.120.104 01:57, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

The pink is really a bit bright yet for such a dark furred cat. And blending it a bit more, so it's just a hint of how thin the fur on the inside of the ears and they'll be pretty good. You should also blend a touch more under the chin, as that shading line is still really sharp. You also missed shading on the bit of belly that shows, and want to make sure all your shading transitions are nice and smooth. You're almost there!  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 16:49, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

I'll work on this tomorrow. (SB's using the computer, which has GIMP on it.) GB 22:22, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

How's this? GB 03:12, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

The hard transitions between colors are still there. They need to get blended. Shading needs to be smooth and not look so sharply defined against the rest of the pelt. You're just about there. Get the blending, and I don't think I'll have anything else.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 16:26, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

I'll work on it tomorrow. GB 21:22, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Better? GB 03:16, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

The hard lines are still in the shding, I desparately wangt the shading and blending amped up so she has that aceppted look. --Mallinois The Doghouse 01:26, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Um... what? GB39 21:59, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, I typed too fast whil holding something. What I meant is that she needs blending on the hard transitions on the shading. --Mallinois 22:54, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Medicine Cat Blanks - For Approval

File:MedCatMsh3.png
File:MedCatFsh3.png
File:MedCatMlh3.png
File:MedCatFlh3.png

I'm back! This time I'm trying to contribute with these medicine cat blanks. I made them look as realistic as I could, and tried to stick with the style of the previous blanks. And, as trivia, the herb that the medicine cat is carrying is coltsfoot! Well...if one were to color the flower yellow. XD But either way, constructive criticism is welcome. I hope these are fine! C: --Hazelflower 04:43, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Me likey! --Spottedleaf x firestar 11:10, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Cool! The coltsfoot was definately a nice touch!--JKO 13:13, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

First of all, there already are medicine cat blanks up for approval. The coltsfoot was nice, but these blanks look a bit manga-ish. Good effort though. --FxC **The Waterfall** 13:48, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

I didn't know there couldn't be more than one up for approval at a time!! I'm sorry. D: Also, do you have any suggestions, perhaps? It'd be more helpful if you were to tell me how to make them look more realistic, rather than just saying they look mangaish, ya know? But I really appreciate the honesty. :D --Hazelflower 20:36, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Well, the eyes need to be a bit bigger, and maybe even out the facial features, so the forehead isn't so big? --FxC **The Waterfall** 00:02, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

There can be more than one of a certain blank for approval at a time; just because one is already p, doesn't mean that another can't be posted.––Σulãlíã459 678 00:07, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

I think Kitsu is going to deal with this problem soon, that way there won't be any arguements. GB 00:22, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

And also I would like to tie in with Eu, the person said they'd like to decline the art themselves so really its ok for another blank to be up. Kitsu just hasn't been up to update it so I see nothing wrong with it all. Also GB and FB I know you guys are helping out alot while Kitsu is away, but you don't have to act like you guys are the leaders of this. I'm just saying how it feels to me. Anyway...I personally love the blank Hazelflower. Great job and they do seem realistic. Maybe you could even redo some of the other bases, you know? -- Shim-ShimShimmering Crystals 04:33, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the advice, FC. I really appreciate it! C: And I hope it didn't cause any controversy...? I just wanted to make some blanks. XD~ And thanks, Shim-Shim. I appreciate the compliment! :D -Hazelflower 04:38, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Update! Okay, so I made the foreheads smaller like you (sort of) suggested, FC. I tried to move the facial features around, but it just looked really weird to me. Either way, I hope it looks a little better now. -Hazelflower 00:54, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Okay, Let's get this party started... Very nice work. But not 100% set for approval, as I have a few tweaks. They all probably stem from what I think is a usual Anime-style of drawing that you have. It's not necessarily anything bad, just some tweaks I'd like to see to get them to fit a bit more with existing blanks and amp up the realism a touch. You've got a great start, though. I like the head as it is now. You might want to raise the eyes a pixel or so, but I don't know if that would acctually help deal with the high cranium. It might acctually be best as it is now. Now... Something about the far-foreleg is weird to me... I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's just that it starts so far forward compared to the other. You've acctually got the same effect happening on the far-hind, also. And the tail seems... a tad long. You've got a stellar start, however. OH! And for the longhairs... Can we get a touch of shaggy on the head and legs? Not too much, just a bit! Like at teh elbow and knee and between the ears. Not too much, just a little so they look less sleek.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 15:33, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

All right! :D I worked really hard on improving these, and I hope that they're to everyone's liking. I even moved the eyes up a pixel (and the cat's left eye closer to the other just a bit) and I quite like the result. C: -Hazelflower 22:29, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

They're looking great. I still have one thing I think needs work. It's more pronounced on the shorthair... But there's just something a little weird about the connection of the neck to the body. You're getting there, and it's looking excellent.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 17:40, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, Kitsu! Sorry I haven't said anything in, what, a few days? School was busy this week, but now it's the weekend! I'll give an update as soon as I've fixed it. C: -Hazelflower 20:25, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Update again!! Okay, so, I finally found the time to tweak it just a tad. I brought in the back neckline a bit on the short-hair bases, and I moved down the long-hair back just by about a pixel (but I'm debating on just moving it back up). So, I hope this update is all right! -Hazelflower 02:47, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Looks great to me!--Jakko123 21:49, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

If you shift the shoulder-blade you added in back a bit, I think it'll be perfect. Putting it in kinda... got my brain around what was off about the shoulder area. Also, keep in mind you'll need to scale the image, also, so that it's in scale with the Warrior Pixel. Great work!  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 16:28, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

How do you tell the difference between the male and female blanks? They all look like females to me. User:Mallinois/Coyote=background:Black>Coyote The Doghouse 00:03, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

The eyes - the females have more pointed eyes where as the males have rounded edges.--Sandy 20:15, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

These are great, I hope they get approved. Nice touch ith the herbs.--Redflare 19:40, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Still, they all look like females, so I suggest adding a more masculine quality to the males. Warm Regards, Mallinois 20:34, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Crowfeather- for Approval

Many might remember the first image I tried out when I first joined. I did Crowfeather along with Squirrelflight. Though Squirrelflight was made around the same time and approved, I never got around to edit poor Crowfeather. Since I finally have time on my hands I've reuploaded him. I remembered Kitsu saying I needed to re-add the line art back to him. So here's Crowfeather with the lineart back again and the same coloring. Comment please :) -- Shim-ShimShimmering Crystals 06:39, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

That's really good! I couldn't do better than that! >_< --Leopardstar's Ultimate fan 13:46, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

The shading on his back looks... awkward. Also, the pink part of his ear looks like a perfume bottle instead of a triangle. GB 16:08, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Yeah I remembered Kitsu saying something about it too. Well now here's the update version. I redid his ear and decided on my new way with shading. -- Shim-ShimShimmering Crystals 17:34, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Okay, now he looks like someone stuck their hands in like, five different types of black paint, and rubbed their hands all over him. He needs to be one color, with shading. The ear looks better, though. GB 17:54, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Actually, GB, with some blending his hindquarter will be wonderfully shaded and look nicely 3D. Now, Shim, you just need to get the head and forequarters in the same way and blend everything together. The ear... I would love to see less pink because dark furred cats have dark skin. And the pink nose... Please do away with it, as it looks... rather out of place. Great improvements so far, I look forward to seeing you take it the rest of the way.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 15:57, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
Got it Kitsu. Here's the new uploaded version of Crowfeather. I did all what you said, but I think I took out too much pink. Comments please ^_^ -- Shim-ShimShimmering Crystals 00:29, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Personally, I think more pink can come out. I hate bright pink ears. They look terribly unnatural. Google some black cat pictures and you'll see what I mean. The hindleg looks great, now blend some more on the forequarters, try and get a more defined shoulder going on, and add shading to the head. You're doing great.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 03:49, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
Sure thing. Just to let everyone know I shall probably be away for about a week or two. Though a week is the least amount of time I'd give. So if this gets moved I under stand. Just to inform everyone.-- Shim-ShimShimmering Crystals 02:00, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
I'll be leaving this one, just so that no one starts their own version of him. This one is darn-near approved, and I'd have to have the work duplicated.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 16:57, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
I'm back! And thank you so much Kitsu for holding Crowfeather. Well here's his updated version. I love how much he has improved.-- ShimmerCrytals 03:22, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Voletooth - for approval

Okay, I tried an image of Voletooth. Constructive critisism welcome :)--Sandstar12 21:41, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

This brown has a slight tan tinge to it. Also, there's something in the background that looks like the shading of a white cat. GB 00:17, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

I sorted the background and darkened his colour a bit. --Sandstar12 12:02, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

That's really good! And reallistic! --:Leopardstar's Ultimate Fan 15:41, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Thank you Leopardheart--Sandstar12 15:48, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Hm... you could also touch up the pink part of the ear a bit. GB 16:29, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I increased the pink colour--Sandstar12 16:48, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

The color was fine; it's the fact that the ear looks like you just stuck it on and blended. It needs to be more of a triangle shape. GB 17:04, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Okay, how about now?--Sandstar12 18:46, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

It's a good start, but there's still some work to do. The shading needs to be completed (why none on the muzzle?) and the shoulder needs some definition. The ear pink needs some blending, and the shade could be toned down (really bright pink never looks quite right).  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 17:48, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

I sorted the ear, added some shading around the muzzle and shoulder areas as well as some highlights on the flank and middle chest area. I also blended this shading more thoroughly. --Sandy 19:02, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

I think its a beautiful pic, Sandy. The shading really gives it a 3D touch and blend. --Bramble Bramble's Realm 19:19, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Bramble!--Sandy 20:35, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Anything else needs doing?--Sandy 21:12, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

It's looking really good, but I have a few things for you. The shoulder/neck shading is a little weird... I think because there's no shading creating any roundness for the head. The tummy/elbow/knee zone is pretty much unshaded and could use some. And the shading could all use a touch more blending, as there are a number of points where things look like markings rather than shading.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 16:33, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I added some shading around the head and on the tummy/knee area. I also blended all the shading more thoroughly--Sandy 17:37, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Looks Great! -- Mallinois 20:36, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Moonflower?

Would we consider Bluestar's mother as an elder or a warrior? Or a queen? Because I'd like to do her and I don't know if I should use the warrior base. --Bramble Bramble's Realm 23:01, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Anyone out there? --Bramble Bramble's Realm 16:27, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Yes. I'm not sure about this - we don't know whether she ever became an elder do we? I don't think the books ever say her status when she died so I would personally picture her as a warrior unless it states otherwise. --Sandy 20:37, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

We practically need a genetic image or those situations when we're just not sure... Maybe someday. And the matter bears discussion... I don't like the idea of just guessing she died in combat without ever retiring. She lived in times of relative peace from what I can tell. The books chronicle times of upheaval, not the status quo of the clans... Anyone else wanna weigh in on this question?  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 17:01, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Hm... looks like something to ask the authors at the next chat. GB 23:00, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Graymist - Withdrawn by User

Okay, here's an image of Greymist. (RiverClan warrior) --Sandy 19:16, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Graymist is a pale grsay cat, not gray and white.See Allegiances Dark River

I know. I have read the allegiances before I chose her as the character you know...I didn't just guess... The whole point of this image is that it was TOO grey to be a grey and white cat...--Sandy 21:17, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

You need to deal with that white tinge. Otherwise, I think it looks pretty nice. Maybe you could touch up the ear a little. GB 00:10, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Okay, she's definitely grey now--Sandy 07:48, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

I also sorted the ear a little to make it more triangular and natural looking--Sandy 15:43, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

She could use some tabby markings. GB 22:33, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

she is not a tabby, its fine.--Redflare 22:51, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Yes she is. See the allegiances for Outcast. GB 22:54, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

She needs no tabby markings...the description of her on her page on this site is of a 'pale grey she-cat'. Is there anything else anyone thinks needs doing though?--Sandy 21:11, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

Yes, tabby markings. Sandy, I know what the article says, but you can't argue with the books. It says in Outcast and other books that she's a tabby. GB 01:28, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

okay, okay. I'll give her some tabby markings. I'll re-upload when I've finished.--Sandy 10:39, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Okay, this is my first ever attempt at tabby markings--Sandy 10:57, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Until we get a clarification from the authors on which description is correct, we'll have to wait on approval. Unless someone wants to acctually look up any/all references to the character and see which one acctually gets used in the books.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 16:35, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

I'll take a look in the books and find out.--Sandy 17:26, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

I've only managed to find one reference where it shows her colour - The Sight, p135, 'a gray RiverClan queen...' All the allegiences show she's a tabby though--Sandy 18:05, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

I'm withdrawing this and I'll start afresh on something new. This image has been lying here for too long and I don't know where to go with it so it can be declined or whatever. I'll concentrate on another image instead--Sandy 19:02, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Sootfur - For approval

Here's a try at Sootfur.--Jakko123 21:49, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

The blending you've done so far is beautiful! But don't be afraid to add more shading! Trust me, I know how you feel. But what's the worse that could happen, neh? Just think of where shading usually is on a cat; where the muscles are, etc. Also, consider which character you're doing. If you're doing a more muscular cat, go ahead and define those muscles! Go ahead and show what a tough warrior they are! Anyways, like I said, beautiful blending. C: Oh, and don't forget to add a triangle of color to that ear! -Hazelflower 22:01, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Ooops, I saw that too. Here's a new version, I did the shading in a style more like Bramble. You might need to stand up to see it though.--Jakko123 22:10, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

The shading needs to be blended in more--Sandy 17:44, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Sandy's right. If you're using a program that has the smudge and blur tool, let me tell you that the combination of both of them has beautiful results. Also, I'd add a bit of shading to the head. You're getting there!! -Hazelflower 20:55, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

I tried adding the shading on the head, and blending it more. Hazel, sadly you can only use blur tool when blending something with black.--Jakko123 22:21, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

That's weird, Jakko... I use blur on normal colors all the time... It's a nice start, but don't forget to shade the legs, rear, tail and muzzle. and to blend things fully.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 16:38, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

I'm going to remove this.--Jakko123 21:39, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Graystripe - for approval

My first try at a character art. i accept criticism and advice. --Lightning 17:57, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

1. He has some white specks.

2. He has a blue line on the left side of the pic.

--GB 00:15, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Woops, the line was a mistake on the part of Paint.net. I think i got the white specks.--Lightning 18:34, 20 November 2008 (UTC)

The shading could be increased a bit, but those white flecks... gotta deal with those. GB 00:39, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Also, the background has to be white. GB 01:02, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Okay, you solved the white flecks problem, but the background is still blue, and it looks like you took blurtool and ran it over everything. GB 01:24, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

There is a bunch of little black lines......and the darker gray stripe needs to be bigger. His eyes should be more golden brown, too. User:Mallinois

Welcome to the project! Thanks you for giving this a go... Let's get things started: The outlines are blurred, and that needs to be fixed. The shading is also a bit small, and really needs to be amped-up and fully blended.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 16:40, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Well, I always envisioned Graystripe as having a darker, slate grey stripe on his back. With this blank position, that would be a bit hard. I suggest a really dark gray on the back that fades into the normal pelt, blending the stripe with the shading. That would look really nice. Also, maybe add some highlights on the front forelegs. FxC 23:20, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Feathertail - For Approval

Alright, I fixed the pic. Kitsu, I buffed the shading a bit to make it look more 3-d. It is better now? (Sorry about the delay, I am working on Poppyfrost, my first tortie, and having trouble.) FxC 22:45, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

What happened to the ear and tail?--Redflare 22:48, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

The poor ear..the poor tail! What did you do to them? Any way, some more blended shading and it would look good. Fix the ear and tail. User:Mallinois Coyote=background:Black>Coyote The Doghouse 01:57, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Sorry. I am on my grandparents computer, so using Photobie. I fixed the lineart, at the expense of the transparent background. The background will be brought back as soon as I get back on my own laptop. FxC 15:58, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

The outline's gone really weird in places... If you have GIMP or Photoshop, I recomend just copying the black lineart out of a clean version of the blank, and then pasting it in over the top as it's own later ;) This is acctually a trick I use all the time to keep my lineart clean. Some shading on the head and underside would be nice.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 16:42, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Here s the new version. I pasted the blank and it looks great. As for the shading, I did a bit on the muzzle, as well as the right foreleg. I personally am proud of the improvements. :D Kitsu, does it need a bit more shading in the "tummy" area? I was debating on that. FxC 15:25, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

The blue eyes look extremely cloudy and dark. GB39 15:45, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Well, I will lighten them up a bit, but I always envisioned Silver and Feather as having mysterious, hazy blue eyes a bit like Heathertail. FxC 23:20, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

This looks pretty clase to approval, just alittle use of the lighten tool and it'll work. Good luck with Poppyfrost!Mallinois The Doghouse 20:29, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Hazeltail - For Approval

The ear-pink is blended now, whaddya guys think? FxC 22:45, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

More blending on the patches.User:Mallinois Nov. 23
I'm pretty pleased with the blending of the patches, with the exception of 3 places: Tail, right-foreleg, and between the eyes. But shading... Shading is needed. The ear-pink could do with being a touch softer, too.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 16:44, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

I'd like to place this on hold (if it is possible) to focus on finalizing Feathertail. FxC 23:20, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Larchkit - For Approval

Hope you like it! Hawktail 00:47, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

It's a nice start. But I am going to say something I say all the time: Blend. I also have to comment on the ear pink, as it's simply far too pink to look right. And... There's something weird about the tabby... I think it's the angle of the stripes, in addition to how un-integrated with the pelt they are. And the fact that they're conspicuously absent from places they should be (forehead, tail, left foreleg, cheeks).  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 16:47, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Blend. Shade. Draw in pupils. Plus, where did the light Brown Belly come from? Coyote=background:Black>Coyote The Doghouse 21:46, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

I dont have time to fix it right now, but there are pupils, look closer Hawktail 23:59, 25 November 2008 (UTC)

Foxpaw for Approval

File:Foxpaw.PNGI'm amazed that there wasn't another one started while I was gone. Here's also an updated Foxpaw image as well.-- ShimmerCrystals 03:24, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

The outline is really blurry in places, and the ear should be more blended into the pelt. Bright pink ears look unnatural. Koda

The shading is too light, and isn't really buffed out like it should be. But this looks pretty good. FxC 23:20, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

I added the line art back in the places it was needed.-- ShimmerCrytals 01:10, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Cool. I did Icepaw, just to partner up with your Foxpaw. A little tweak with the darken tool on the shading. Mallinois The Doghouse 20:30, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Brackenfur for Approval

I also made a few edits to Brackenfur before I reuploaded him. Comment please cause I think he needs more work, but I can't think of what.-- ShimmerCrytals 03:27, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

I think this looks good Shimmerpool. I can't think of anything right now that needs doing except maybe the shading could be blended slightly more along his chest fur. Apart from thst I think this looks great!--Sandy 19:16, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

This needs shading, of course. Also, the tabby markings need to be blended better. A pretty good start, but of course, it needs improvement. Also, there is a "swirl" in the lower leg area, if you see where the curve is, a little above that. You might want to put a tabby marking there.--Jakko123 21:34, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

I would like to decline this submission at the moment. I want to finish up Crowfeather and Foxpaw for now. Once I'm done with them, I'll come back to work on him if I'm feeling up to it, which I probably won't cause of midterms.-- ShimmerCrytals 22:13, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Rainwhisker - For Approval

Sorry for the delay, I was on vacation. I added highlights to the old version, and blurred it the best i could. Improving it is up to all of you. --Bramble Bramble's Realm 05:11, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

He looks like he's... glowing. GB39 05:14, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

I think the pale highlights need blending in a bit more. And possibly the ear needs more blending too--Sandy 15:10, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

The ear, actually, is blended perfectly I think. Bramble, this looks great and I'm sure it will be approved. FxC 23:20, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, FxC! Sandy, I've already blended the highlights as far as they can go. The blur tool won't blur it together anymore. We'll see what Kitsu thinks of them, and maybe I can just take them off. --Bramble Bramble's Realm 23:32, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

I love the image of Rainwhisker! But I think that the highlights could be removed or atleast put on running down his back and one on his chest fur. Are you sure thats as far as it can be blend? Overall, lets leave it to Kitsu-- ShimmerCrytals 01:14, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Bramble really it's too blue and unatural. I suggest adding a more grayish color. Please.--Redflare 15:42, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Thistleclaw - For Approval

Nobody seems to talk about him very much. I felt bad for Thistle, so i thought I'd color him. --Bramble Bramble's Realm 05:11, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

I love this image - great job--Sandy 15:11, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Sandy! --Bramble Bramble's Realm 16:44, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Well, I only see a few spots that might need improvement. The spot around the ear is an unnatural circle, as well as the line that defines the light grey from the dark grey on the left foreleg. Maybe the shading could be amped up a bit. And some highlights on the forelegs would be nice. Otherwise, this is beautiful, Bramble. FxC 23:20, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

I'll see about the highlights and amping the shading, but I don't know what you mean about an unnatural circle. --Bramble Bramble's Realm 23:36, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

I think FxC means the ear's ending has an unnatural curve...--Mallinois Woof! DoggieDish 17:02, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

More shading needed GB!--Sandy 15:12, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Better? GB39 15:56, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Maybe some more shading on the hip area, and more blending on the current shading. Also, the ear color looks more purple than pink. --Bramble Bramble's Realm 16:44, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

I'm way to busy right now to work on three images, but I'll work on the other two. GB39 17:50, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Robinwing - For Approval

Here's my go at Robinwing. GB39 05:38, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

You can just barely see the shading, it needs to be more prominent(if that's the right word) XD. And if you look closely, you can see some white highlight on the lineart, right on the head. --Bramble Bramble's Realm 16:44, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

I'll get on it soon. And I found the highlight! XD GB39 17:21, 30 November 200Th

There needs to be a lot of shading here. Also, there is no pupil in the eye. The ear pink needs to be made more into the picture too.--Jakko123 21:37, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

How's this? GB39 18:04, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Why Bother?

Can't you take images from the books (such as the field guides) with the more major characters?

I think that would be breaking copyright law, and we don't want to do that. Also remember to sign with 4 tildes (~~~~). ZT 12:56, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

There is more satisfaction in creating the images yourself. Plus, they will be more consistent this way--Sandy 14:48, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Hollykit - For Approval

File:Hollykit.PNG

I've coloured Hollykit from the New Prophecy series. My first kit, please comment--Sandy 14:48, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

The eyes look... unnatural. And the pink color for the ears and nose looks extremely bright- I can barely see it compared to the pelt. GB39 15:22, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

GB, you're saying that because the ears and nose are extremely bright you can barely see it compared to the pelt? That doesn't make any sense. But I do agree about the eyes. They look too shadowy. Maybe if you made a sharp define from the pupil and the colored iris it would look better, Sandy. --Bramble Bramble's Realm 16:44, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I've tried to do something with the eyes but I didn't understand the comment about the pink ears and nose...--Sandy 18:53, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Um, the eyes still look kinda weird. Could you put the pupils in the same positions on either side? I think that would help Hawktail 23:46, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Better?--Sandy 20:12, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

The eyes look great. Now just a touch more of some shading and I think Kitsu will love it C: FxC 23:20, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I added some more shading. I'm not sure which version I like better though. This one or the old one. What do u guys think?? Is this an improvement or should I work again on the previous image?--Sandy 18:58, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Sandy, this looks beautiful! We should just leave this to Kitsu. FxC 14:26, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks FxC. I'll just leave it as it is then :)--Sandy 20:24, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

This may sound stupid but...what's a fursona?--Sandy 07:37, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Fursonas are different than what Charart designs; fursonas are for personal userpage use, whereas Charart designs pixels and pixel blanks (I think). Fursonas are designed by a user for another user, while the pixels are designed by a user for an article, and fursonas that have been created for a userpage should not be used on an article.––Σulãlíã459 678 20:12, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

My next attempt at Lionblaze, blended and shaded. What do you think? --Mallinois The Doghouse 01:24, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

I like the other Lionblaze you made better. --Alice 02:16, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
I think you need to combine aspects of the two. The body markings from v1 and the tail markings from v2 with the tabby 'm' added too. Also - you had the right idea with the shading on the first one. What I normally do is use the 'darken' tool on a low opacity in appropriate places and blend, then the lighten tool to add highlights. You need to combine the shading of both images without losing the clear cut outline. (ie don't blend the outline) I think that with a bit more work this could be a good image :) It sounds like hard work now, but it could look great! --Sandy 16:15, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
Also - the ear pink needs blending in to the pelt, as does the white tipped tail (if you're determined to keep it - i'm staying impartial on that debate!!) I personally like what you've done with the eye though--Sandy 16:17, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
New version up. Feel free to comment.--Mallinois The Doghouse 19:38, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
If I remember correctly, Lionblaze doesn't have a white tiped tail. The shading near his hind leg and front leg seems really dark to go with his pelt too.-- ShimmerCrytals 22:53, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

I updated. Plus, Shim, your sig says crytals instead of crystals. --Mallinois The Doghouse 01:35, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Mumble, that's not true. There's still a lot it needs. Sandy, the shade of black you picked is really dark, and it makes it hard to see the eyes. Also, the back paws are still black. GB39 22:05, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Actually, it is needed. We're tying to get a pixel of characters at every rank they achiveved; even if we already have a warrior pixel, we still need kit and apprentice pixels as well.––Σulãlíã459 678 06:23, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Wait, caught something. The paw's still smeared. GB39 01:07, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

Mallinois, this looks pretty good. However, Kitsu said that there would be time for previous pixels later. We need many more current pixels, which are our top priority. FxC 21:34, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Bumblekit-Withdrawing

File:Bumblekit.PNG

This is my try at Bumblekit. Comments needed. If someone could help me get the background white, I would appreciate it. Whenever I turn the background white, the lineart turns white.--Mallinois 14:32, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

I think the lineart changes colour too because it is the same colour as the background and so has now become part of the background. I think the eyes need pupils to make them look more natural, and the stripes need to blended more so they to look natural. The pink ear is too pale also.--SandyLeader's Den 15:25, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

The eyes have pupils (just look closer :) and they are yellow like a Bumblebee's stripes! (ha, Ha) I'll try to blend those stripes more! --Mallinois 15:26, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

The background needs to be white. GB39 00:37, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Sorry Mallinois - didn't see that. The eyes look good but the image still needs more shading and the background is going to need sorting out too as GB mentioned.--SandyLeader's Den 13:47, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

What do you think? I wanna help with the project, too. (if that's ok...) --Mumble785 01:15, 21 December 2008 (UTC)Mumble785

Welcome to Charart Mumble :) I see this is your first try out. Now let's begin. Ravenpaw is, yes a black cat, but you could make him a bit lighter so you could add shading. Once done with that, add your shading and blend away. Good luck ;) May I suggest when getting the lineart, save it to your computer. That makes it easier instead of having to upload it to photobucket time after time again. Also I advise to use Photoshop or Gimp when doing these.-- ShimmerCrystals 05:58, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

This has a lot of unneeded color blotches, and something looks wrong w/ the eyes... Other than that, you need to shade and really amp up the blending on the white-tipped tail and the chest(which by the way has a white dash, not white splotch.) And the image needs to lighten up, too. Sorry if I sound harsh, but this is really what is wrong with the image. What image editor did you use? --Mallinois 15:32, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Ok.I'll work on it some more using your tips. ;) Thanks!--Mumble785 14:07, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

P.S. What program do the other people use, where do they get it, and does it cost anything? Currently, I'm using paint. *blushes from embarrasment* (I know I spelled embarrasment wrong.)--Mumble785 14:25, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Paint? *Shivers* That's a problem. Most people use GIMP. I color my images with paint, and edit them with GIMP. GB39 17:46, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Ok. I'll check GIMP out then, and trade google sketchup for it. THEN I'll work on ravenpaw some more.--Mumble785 18:06, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

One of the things you could do to improve it would be to maybe scoot the tail over a little, making him a little fatter around the belly (he look's a little starved...), and making the tail a little longer. Also, in some places the line needs to be a teensy bit thicker such as the teeth, nose, eyes, some of his fluff, etc. I'm not trying to be rude, but if I am, my apologies. --Mumble785 18:25, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
