July FA[]

Hoping to get more comments this month. c: Past suggestions are Sun-drown-place and Horseplace. I also think LionClan (modern) and Natural disasters look pretty good. Idk July feels like a LionClan month to me if not LionClan than Sun-Drown-Place. -Ducksauce 15:29, June 4, 2014 (UTC)

I like LionClan. Maybe we could use the sun-drown-place for August. Appledash the light of honor 21:16, June 8, 2014 (UTC)

Article for Cave of Pointed Stones[]

Besides being a vital part of tribe life, this location in the mountains is like their Moonpool and is very significant I think it warrants a page. Does anyone have any objections of thoughts on a page for it? -Ducksauce 21:23, June 8, 2014 (UTC)

No objections. If the Moonpool gets its own page, then this does as well. Appledash the light of honor 21:26, June 8, 2014 (UTC)

Quotes Sections for Clans[]

Hey. I was just thinking that we should add quote sections for like the Clan articles, because there are so many quotes out there that describe the well-being of a certain Clan - like, for example, Dawnstripe tells Tallpaw in Tallstar's Revenge: "We guard the edge of the world. The other Clans sit cozy in their marshes and woods, fed by the river and sheltered by our moor. They never know the true taste of the wind or the scent of the first snow. There is no Clan cat more faster or nimbler than a WIndClan cat." And there are tons more, that I know, that describe the Clans in quotes from cats. We can't exactly describe it in one main quote, or in our own words. We need the warriors to help us. Appledash the light of honor 21:16, June 8, 2014 (UTC)

I like this, there are tons of good quotes for the Clans and I think it'd be a great addition! -Ducksauce 21:23, June 8, 2014 (UTC)

Does anyone else have an opinion? Appledash the light of honor 02:31, June 17, 2014 (UTC)

Personally, if there's any quotes that describe the Clan, go with them. Queen Beebs 02:32, June 17, 2014 (UTC)

cite?[]

how do you site sources penguinloverdb

Citations are quite easy, just need to get use to them. So there are two ways for someone to cite something; there are the <ref> and </ref> tags as well as a R template. The R template is faster and more concise than using the ref tags, however the ref tags are for outside links and such keep in mind. The R template is made up of two parts: the abbreviation of the book and the page number. R template will look as followed and for exemplary purposes, I'm going to use Fire and Ice, page 48. So it should look like this: {{r|os2|48}}. This will give you all the abbreviations for the books and so then all you have to do is add in the page number, however do not edit that page. Otherwise, citations are pretty straight forward! All credit to teldy for the speech, which can be found here. -Ducksauce 01:35, June 29, 2014 (UTC)

Content Drive[]

So, Events Timeline has been content drive for well over two years and I think it's time to choose a new one. Possibly The Early Settlers or The mountains? They seem like fitting choices considering very very little are done on them and they both need loads of work. What do you guys think? If you think Events Timeline needs to stay, we'll keep it, but it has been the drive for a very long time now.  -Ducksauce 04:37, June 21, 2014 (UTC)

Can I get some comments, guys? -Ducksauce 19:04, June 24, 2014 (UTC)

Hmm, I'd go with The Mountains. I'm not against the Early Settlers, but The Mountains definitely needs more work in my opinion. Bird Squash one, squash two, squash three... 22:20, June 24, 2014 (UTC)

Can I get some more comments on this? -Ducksauce 05:11, July 11, 2014 (UTC)

Maybe we could create more pages about [[::Category:Events|Events]], similar to Journey to Midnight. We used to plan such pages a long time ago, but it was sort of forgotten. (Also, maybe they should be a part of the Books project?) Helixtalk 09:37, July 13, 2014 (UTC)

I like the events idea, honestly. However, they probably shouldn't be part of PB, since that project (at least how I understood it) is solely for the books themselves. What happens within them falls to the other projects....although I'd be up for a joint content drive with PW/PB since it could fall under both projects...kinda like the timeline idea- seems like it could be PW or PB- but it stays here in PW. Jayce(15:42, 7/13/2014)

I agree with Skye that it should be PW project, not PB, since it has more to do with the cats' world rather than the books themselves. However, I like PB's idea for a content drive right now, so I'd rather this to stay within World until that could be finished. After we finish the one we've agreed upon right now, I'd be fine with doing a joint CD I really want those particular chapter subpages to be finished though Bird Squash one, squash two, squash three... 20:14, July 13, 2014 (UTC)

I love the events idea, too, does anyone have any ideas for what events we can do? -Ducksauce 03:50, July 24, 2014 (UTC)

Maybe the journey to the Forest Territories? Bird Squash one, squash two, squash three... 04:11, July 24, 2014 (UTC)

that sounds good, and maybe the journey to find SkyClan, the journey to the beaver dam, the journey to the mountains in Outcast, and (this one is iffy) Leafpool and Crowfeather's leaving their Clans. -Ducksauce 04:20, July 24, 2014 (UTC)

If no-one's against the suggested content drive (The mountains) it will become Content Drive in 24 hours. -Ducksauce 18:26, July 31, 2014 (UTC)

Eliminating Events Timeline/Detailed[]

So, with the revamp of Events timeline I think this page is useless. The whole point of the revamp is to make the page more simple and I think we all saw what happened when Events Timeline got detailed. It would be nearly impossible to control and accurately create this page, and when Events Timeline gets finished, this page won't really be needed. I propose that we eliminate Events Timeline/Detailed. -Ducksauce 01:39, August 2, 2014 (UTC)

I agree. With the update of the Events Timeline, the detailed part is overkill. Atelda insert vague subtext here 01:54, August 2, 2014 (UTC)

Well, I do believe that Helice wanted a copy of the timeline put under his userspace, so perhaps we could store that there instead of deleting it entirely? There's still some good info on there and it would be a complete waste to delete it. Jayce(01:59, 8/2/2014)

I agree with Skye that it doesn't need to be deleted entirely, but isn't really needed. Bird Squash one, squash two, squash three... 03:26, August 2, 2014 (UTC)

If Helix comments with his consent, then we could consider the option of storing it there. I'd also be willing to have it under my userspace if we don't want to delete entirely (though we can always undelete). Atelda insert vague subtext here 04:23, August 2, 2014 (UTC)

Consent for the main timeline is here (it was his idea), and I just forgot to link it earlier. Jayce(04:33, 8/2/2014)

I agree that moving it to the userspace would probably be best, but this will still be put up for vote in the deletion forum. Since there's been no comments for 5 days, I' gonna put this under  CBV. -Ducksauce 20:34, August 7, 2014 (UTC)

Events Pages[]

So, this really should have it's own discussion, but you can see more of it up in the Content Drive heading.^ So far the suggestions we have are:

  • Journey to the Forest Territories
  • Journey to find SkyClan
  • Journey to the Beaver Dam
  • Journey to the Mountains (in Outcast)
  • Leafpool and Crowfeather leaving their Clan (that's iffy)

and a few new ones

  • Tallstar Leaving his Clan (that one's iffy too)

and

  • Journey to the Lake Territories

That's a pretty nice list to start with if we do indeed go ahead with this idea. I think it's a great idea and I'd work my hardest to get these done. I think they would be valuable additions to the wiki. So, if there's any thoughts or new ideas you have, now is the time to bring them forth. Also, remember that these don't have to be journeys, just events, so any notable events could work. -Ducksauce 18:25, July 31, 2014 (UTC)

These look good. Possibly add the Battle at Fourtrees (The First Battle), and the battle against the Dark Forest cats (The Last Hope)? I think Tallstar leaving WindClan is fine, as it is a pretty big part of Tallstar's Revenge and influenced how he lead the Clan. I think that Leaf and Crow running off is a bit iffy for a whole page. The Journey to Midnight page looks pretty well set up, so would we set up the other Event Pages that way as well? Or would battles and journeys be set up differently? Bird Squash one, squash two, squash three... 00:02, August 1, 2014 (UTC)

The format for the Journey to Midnight would be a good source to base the other journey pages on. I also like the idea of having pages for major battles, events that conclude the arcs. For events like battles, the format could generally be the same as the traveling pages: a section for the description; sub-sections for the premise and overview; a summary which could be split in prelude/preamble/precursor, the battle, and then the aftermath; the "characters" section could be rewritten into the participants with a subsection or asterisks marking the deceased ones; and then quotes. Atelda insert vague subtext here 01:17, August 1, 2014 (UTC)

Why wasn't the Journey to find SkyClan a page to begin with???? It's the driving force behind the first half of Firestar's Quest. o.O I'm shocked it's not a page to begin with...all of them are good suggestions. And why in Skorm's name do we have a Journey to Midnight page, but not one for the one to the Lake territories? That's just as important, if not moreso, than them finding Midnight. I'm actually really shocked that a lot of these don't already exist in some form or another. Atelda's idea also works quite well, as does having pages for major battles. While we're on that subject, would the journey Brambleclaw and the others took to find Sol, or perhaps the Sol incidents in general warrant a page? I mean, that's not only the driving force in the Power of Three arc, it's also the "main" conflict in the SkyClan graphic novels, and he's around in The Forgotten Warrior as well. Jayce(01:25, 8/1/2014)

I love all of these ideas, and the format that Journey to Midnight has now would be the best for most of the events pages and that format would probably be added to the guidelines, if it is decided upon. I'm really eager for this project and  I'm glad to see that other users also have great ideas on this! If possible, I'd like to start this before school starts which is in about 1 1/2 weeks, so please make any comments you may have now. -Ducksauce 20:32, August 7, 2014 (UTC)

The first few events pages have been put up -Ducksauce 16:24, November 9, 2014 (UTC)

Stick of the Fallen + Category question[]

Okay, so, we have a page for Jayfeather's stick, and now we have another stick which had a page created for it...but I'm not quite sure what else would go on it? I have the basics, with a summary, description, ect, and it is pretty important (and also is the direct cause of at least one cat's death), so I'm not sure exactly how to format it, what to include, ect. Idk, someone created it, and I added onto it a lot, thinking it could be important. Like, could we have a section that also mentions what the other Clans did in Bramblestar's Storm, with cites and all, of course. ShadowClan listed the names of their dead at the first call of the owls each night, WindClan had a memorial rock pile, and RiverClan has a ring of ferns.

Also, now that I'm on PW's talk page for once, should we have an item category for Jayfeather's stick and TSOTF??? And possibly whatever other important items we might come across? I ain't typing out the full name of that damn stick all the time if it's not on an article

I should also mention that for those who might be confused, Jayfeather's stick from the previous books and TSOTF are not the same stick, so they shouldn't be on the same page. Jayce(23:10, 9/5/2014)

I think the summary should be continued, as it did appear after that scene, with the flood, Seedpaw's death, and it reappearing at the Gathering. And possibly a section explaining the omen about Seedpaw dying trying to save TSOTF? Maybe put what the other Clans did in the trivia, something like "As ThunderClan did with TSOTF, the other Clans honored their dead after The Great Battle with WindClan doing this, and ShadowClan doing that...ect."? Idk, something like that, but worded better. Bird Squash one, squash two, squash three... 02:12, September 6, 2014 (UTC)

Well, besides the summary- I know there's more that's needed there, and I'm not quite done with that yet. Hmm...an omen section...? I like that. Trivia would work too, and I like that idea. Jayce(02:18, 9/6/2014)

Probably follow the general format of the other stick page. -Ducksauce 01:47, September 8, 2014 (UTC)
