Maybe "Journey back to the forest"? The name of the section where the cats start returning home is called "To the forest", so it would be similar to that as well. {{User:Mapleclaw/Sig}} 23:27 Thu Aug 23

Cites on articles

I am wondering what the rule for cites on articles should be. On some articles, we do not have cites - some articles, there are cites only in descriptions / facts, and others with cites in description and history. For all World related articles, should we have cites in the history? Or just description?

Appledash the light of honor 00:13, May 23, 2018 (UTC)

I think that on event articles there should be cites in all sections, but that other articles such as 'Dog' could have no cites in the history/book mentions section since it's kinda like a character page. Events would need them still though, due to them often combining several books and not having clear book headers etc. like some of the more traditional PW pages spooky is that... a furry cat?!? 00:21, 5/23/2018

Any other comments?

I think that there should be cites for all articles, except for the history section of events/animals, which I think would be fine with or without cites. I still think citing the history would be better than not citing, but maybe just giving citations for each chapter instead of every page, if that makes sense. 🏵️ Maple 🏵️ 07:06 Tue Jun 12

Actually, changing what I just said: I think that the history section for events should be cited completely. I still do think that just citing the entire chapter for animal articles' histories would be enough though. 🏵️ Maple 🏵️ 09:02 Tue Jun 12

I am not sure what you mean by citing the "entire chapter" for animals' articles history... can you elaborate?

Appledash the light of honor 02:39, June 14, 2018 (UTC)

When I say citing it completely I mean what it is like in most event articles right now. For example, in Battle against BloodClan, in the 'battle begins' section (and other sections) "''As Firestar fights the tom, the rest of LionClan spring into battle.{{r|os6|291}} Firestar tries vainly searching for Scourge, knowing that victory would be easy once the leader was dead, but he was nowhere to be seen.{{r|os6|293}} Firestar fights his way to the Great Rock, starting to grow tired.{{r|os6|293}} He faces another [[Rogue|rogue]] when Darkstripe, a former ThunderClan cat that had always showed hatred towards Firestar, shoves the tortoiseshell BloodClan cat away. Firestar initially thinks Darkstripe has finally realized his loyalties, but Darkstripe just wants to kill Firestar himself.{{r|os6|294}} They fight until Graystripe, Firestar's closest friend, joins, and finally kills Darkstripe.{{r|os6|295}} ''" Here almost every sentence is cited with a specific page number.

When I say citing a chapter, I mean something like this: (Twilight section of Dog) " :When Firestar assigns Ashfur as Birchpaw's mentor, he says that the warrior has dealt with loss and grief, and Squirrelflight knows that he is talking about how Brindleface has been murdered by Tigerstar as bait for the dog pack, to lure the dogs into the former ThunderClan camp.{{r|np5|chapter 7}} :When Daisy comes to ThunderClan and Daisy is afraid of Brightheart's scars, Squirrelflight thinks that she has grown accustomed to seeing the injuries Brightheart received from the dogs. Brightheart informs Daisy that she was attacked by dogs.{{r|np5|chapter 9}} :When Leafpool sees Brambleclaw in the Dark Forest with Hawkfrost and Tigerstar, and the ShadowClan leader tells his kin to be courageous, she wonders if he felt like that when he led the dog pack to ThunderClan to gain revenge.{{r|np5|chapter 14}} :Soon after, when Cloudtail tries to teach Daisy fighting moves, he tells her that she needs to know how to defend herself against creatures like foxes or dogs. Leafpool thinks that he is being patient with Daisy, and remembers that he was patient with Brighheart after she had been attacked by the dogs.{{r|np5|chapter 14}}" Where instead of citing every sentence with a page number, it just cites the whole paragraph with the entire chapter that dogs appeared in/were mentioned in.

So imo event articles should be cited the way the Battle against BloodClan article is cited and animal histories should be cited like in Dog, where it just gives the chapter that the dog appeared in. Sorry about that huge block of text, I hope that made more sense. If it didn't I can try to describe it better. 🏵️ Maple 🏵️ 11:06 Thu Jun 14

Journey to Midnight

So in Midnight, Brambleclaw and his patrol are traveling to see Midnight. That is the journey to the sun drown place. Now it has been a while since I have read the second arc, but for the Journey to Midnight page, is it accurate to include the Tribe and their journey through the mountains? Because they were not traveling to Midnight, they were traveling home. Appledash the light of honor 02:07, August 13, 2018 (UTC)

That's a fair point. The article could be renamed or split - I'm more for split, which would leave room to flesh it out with more details. spooky is that... a furry cat?!? 02:52, August 14, 2018 (UTC)

Any idea on what the new article should be called? Appledash the light of honor 15:58, August 22, 2018 (UTC)

Battle for the stolen kits ~ Silver Nomination

RoF for some reason is like one of my favorite books ever <3 spooky is that... a furry cat?!? 18:21, August 18, 2018 (UTC)

Seems like Sleekwhisker, the Kin, and Jacques and Susan are bunched in the same bulletpoint. Separate them in combatants. Also, can you add a conclusion or an aftermath section? Appledash the light of honor 16:06, August 22, 2018 (UTC)

Updated split that, and ended up swapping 'Fall of the former leader' to Aftermath as it's shorter. technically it's aftermath since it happens just after they stop fighting, but the battle/Rowanclaw isn't otherwise mentioned in RoF save for a vague comment by Puddleshine in chap.20, so there's no new material I can add.spooky is that... a furry cat?!? 16:46, August 22, 2018 (UTC)

I meant aftermath as in a section heading, not a subheading. Appledash the light of honor 20:19, August 22, 2018 (UTC)

And written in a more third person point of view, somewhat like this. Appledash the light of honor 20:20, August 22, 2018 (UTC)

Update Hmmm. I switched the header back to what it was, for now. Since the aftermath thing hasn't been discussed yet, I'm leaving it out for now and will add it if it gets approved, since I'm not quite sure about it.spooky is that... a furry cat?!? 20:46, August 22, 2018 (UTC)

SkyClan and SkyClan territory

Any idea why SkyClan territory has its own article? I feel like that is completely unnecessary, considering that SkyClan already has its territory described in its article for all three places. I think we should delete it. Appledash the light of honor 16:04, August 22, 2018 (UTC)

It's super old, probably slipped through. It would be fine to delete, but we could use some of the details and cites to transfer over to the other pages where it's detailed.spooky is that... a furry cat?!? 16:47, August 22, 2018 (UTC)

I'm guessing SkyClan probably got a seperate article since it had a territory seperate from the forest territories other 4 Clans, but I don't think it's necessary for it to have a page. Still, like Spooky said I think we could copy some of the details and cites to the other pages. 🏵️ Maple 🏵️ 22:38 Sat Aug 25

New layout

I was thinking that maybe we could go with a new and more detailed layout for articles that have a lot of content in them. This is what I have so far. Appledash the light of honor 20:46, August 22, 2018 (UTC)

I like the idea but it doesn't seem that different from the current template that most event articles have (I'm assuming the articles would still have the Characters and Quotes section?). Also, I think that Strategy (if applicable) should be under description. 🏵️ Maple 🏵️ 02:08 Tue Sep 4

Nomination limit

Wanted to propose officially scrapping this for PW. We scrapped the PB one previously, because there's hundreds of subpages - and being limited to three nominations like it used to be...lmao no. Imagine how much progress wouldn't have gone through if we still had that around. I think we could do the same here and formally remove the nomination limit of 1 article per person here, it's not like a ton of people write these anyways, and we have tons of event articles and other articles to do. And besides, earlier this year we did wiggle that a bit and it was fine, but I'd like to see it not in the guidelines anymore personally. Thoughts?spooky is that... a furry cat?!? 23:33, August 22, 2018 (UTC)

I agree; not many people nominate articles for PW anyway, and I think that even if there were to be an article limit it should be 3, not just 1 article. Especially with so many event articles that need to be written and nominated, I think it would be beneficial for the project to get rid of the limit. 🏵️ Maple 🏵️ 02:13 Tue Sep 4
