"[Frostpaw] vanished over the lip of the hollow where WindClan had their camp. Sunbeam and Nightheart followed, but as she caught sight of the devastation, Sunbeam had to pause for a heartbeat, gazing in horror at the scene in front of her. The tree had thumped down near the center of the camp, jamming itself into what had been the nursery. A crowd of cats was swarming around it, but the tangle of branches blocked every possible way to get in. Some of the WindClan warriors—Sunbeam recognized Hootwhisker and Nightcloud—were attacking the tree, tugging at the outer branches in a desperate attempt to break them off. But it was a massive task, and Sunbeam realized that any injured kits might well die before the rescuers could reach them." |

Chapter description[]
- Sunbeam, Nightheart, and Frostpaw race through the storm towards WindClan's camp, leaping over the border stream and streaking across the moor. As they near the camp, lightning strikes a tree above WindClan's camp, causing half the tree to collapse into the camp below. Frostpaw wails that they are too late, and as they approach WindClan's camp, Sunbeam realizes that Frostpaw's vision was true. The tree had jammed itself on top of WindClan's nursery, and numerous warriors swarm around desperately trying to break the giant branches off. Noticing Frostpaw, Kestrelflight apologizes for dismissing her vision earlier, explaining how Leafkit, one of Oatclaw and Featherpelt's newest litter, is trapped inside the nursery. While Oatclaw yowls for Leafkit, Whistlepaw desperately tries to wedge between the debris to reach her younger sister. Frostpaw encourages Whistlepaw to come out as she is injuring herself. While Crowfeather and Heathertail guide Whistlepaw to Kestrelflight's den, Sunbeam and Nightheart join Harestar and his warriors to clear a path towards the nursery. They eventually clear a small gap wide enough for Sunbeam to crawl through, where she finds Leafkit pinned beneath smaller branches. After freeing the tiny kit, Sunbeam carefully carries her out of the debris, and Leafkit reunites with her parents. Featherpelt graciously thanks Sunbeam for her bravery as she grooms her kit. Nightheart examines Sunbeam's pelt for any injuries, and she feels touched by how much he cares about her. In Kestrelflight's den, the WindClan medicine cat explains how Whistlepaw is badly injured and apologizes again for doubting Frostpaw. Frostpaw insists she is just happy the kits are all safe, and Sunbeam thanks StarClan.
