Leopardstar's Honor

"I want to give Robinkit, Dawnkit, and Woodkit their first bite of carp. They might love it as much as you do."

Woodkit, alongside his siblings, Robinkit and Dawnkit, are born to Frogleap and Mosspelt of RiverClan. Frogleap mentions to Leopardfur that he wants to catch a fish for his young kits to try, and purrs that perhaps they will like carp as much as Leopardfur does. Leopardfur agrees, saying that carp is the tastiest fish. During the search for carp, however, Frogleap is killed, and Leopardfur wonders how to tell Mosspelt, Woodkit, Robinkit, and Dawnkit. Mosspelt tells her kits to stay with her, and Woodkit senses his mother's anxiety and wants to know what is wrong. Upon learning that Frogleap has gone to StarClan, Woodkit asks if Frogleap will return once he is better. Mosspelt says that he will not, and Woodkit starts to wail, upset at learning that his father will not be returning to RiverClan to spend time with him. As Leopardfur leaves to go and get the carp that Frogleap had caught, Mosspelt tells Woodkit, Dawnkit, and Robinkit that things will be okay.

As RiverClan's camp floods, Woodkit and Robinkit cling to Mosspelt, wailing in terror. The two kits press their muzzles closer to Mosspelt's fur as she tries to swim to safety, but Mosspelt is unable to keep Woodkit, Robinkit, and Dawnkit safe, and the three siblings are washed away by the flooding river. Crookedstar, RiverClan's leader, risks his life to save them, and Leopardfur worries for every cat's safety. Crookedstar's body is found curled up with Woodkit, Dawnkit, and Robinkit, and the RiverClan cats jump into action to try and save the three kits. Stonefur takes Woodkit and rubs his chest, trying to get air into Woodkit's body so he can breathe. The blue-gray tom tries his best, but Mudfur deems it unsuccessful, and Woodkit and Robinkit pass away. Mosspelt is grief-stricken after the death of Woodkit and Robinkit, and pays extra attention to Dawnkit to compensate. Mosspelt offers to later foster Featherkit and Stormkit, her emotions still very strong after losing two of her children.

When Leopardfur visits StarClan to gain her nine lives, she sees Frogleap there. The gray tom greets Leopardstar, and says that both Woodkit and Robinkit are with him in StarClan and that they are safe. Leopardfur apologizes for not being able to save them, but Frogleap says that they are loved and cared for in StarClan, just as they were in the living world.
