Woody is a long-legged, shaggy brown tom with yellow eyes.[1]

History

In the Omen of the Stars Series

The Fourth Apprentice

Woody is a loner that lives near the area where the beavers built a dam, blocking the stream which has caused the lake the Clans live near to dry up.
When Lionblaze, Dovepaw, Whitetail, Sedgewhisker, Tigerheart, Toadfoot, Rippletail, and Petalfur arrive, Woody tells them about the beavers. He tells them not to worry about the Twolegs, because they were more interested in the beavers than in cats. Woody doesn't want to participate when the Clan cats attack the beavers, saying it was too dangerous
Woody feels guilty when Rippletail dies after the traveling cats attack the beavers. He tells them sadly he should have stopped them from fighting when he knew it was so hopeless from the beginning.
Later, Woody helps dismantle the beaver dam on the second try, without fighting the beavers, and with his help, the Clan cats manage to separate the dam and free the water.
Although he is a loner, it is noted when Tigerheart mentions that StarClan sent the group to free the water, he simply nods instead of asking about what StarClan is, like most loners do.
