Workfolk are Twolegs[1] who do construction work. Due to their building in the forest, the home to the Clan cats was destroyed,[2] causing the Clans to move away and find the lake.[3]
General information[]
Workfolk can be cruel to cats as seen when they trap the cats in wire webs called cages, and showing acts of cruelty towards the captured cats.[4] They use large monsters to tear down trees and trample the undergrowth.[5] It is noted that their monsters scare away all the prey, and all the Clans except for RiverClan, especially ThunderClan[1] and WindClan,[6] are forced to starve.[7] They poison all of the rabbits, and as a result, Dappletail[8] and many WindClan cats die.[9]
History[]
In the The New Prophecy arc[]
Midnight[]
- The workfolk have begun to tear up parts of the forest. The loner, Ravenpaw, tells Firestar that they are working by the Thunderpath near WindClan territory. When Squirrelflight, Brambleclaw, Stormfur, Feathertail, Crowpaw, and Tawnypelt travel to sun-drown-place and receive a message from Midnight the badger, she tells the journeying cats that workfolk will soon destroy the forest.
Moonrise[]
- The workfolk start deceiving cats into traps by tempting them with kittypet food, then trapping the cats and putting them into cages. Gorsetail, Mistyfoot, Coal, Sasha, Leafpaw, Cloudtail, and Brightheart are a few of the cats that get captured by the workfolk.
Dawn[]
- They continue to capture cats. When Squirrelpaw, Brambleclaw and a patrol from ThunderClan go to rescue them, Graystripe, the ThunderClan deputy, gets trapped inside their Twoleg monster while trying to save Brightheart, and they drive off, taking Graystripe with them.
In the Graystripe's Adventure arc[]
The Lost Warrior[]
- The workfolk are first seen carrying the cats they captured from the forest into a monster, when the Clan cats attack them. They appear to be angry at the cats and before the cats finish rescuing the others, one of the workfolk starts the monster and Graystripe gets trapped in the back of the monster.
