- Cedarstar says that life in the forest is too hard for kittypets but Red says they are not kittypets and they hunt for their own food.
- Cedarstar says that Red and Boulder can stay for a probationary period of one moon, and they must prove themselves in that time if they wish to join.
- After the crowd disperses, Stonetooth challenges Cedarstar, saying the two cats are spies. Cedarstar disagrees.
